Drew McIntyre scored an emphatic win over Jimmy Uso in a No Disqualification match on this week’s SmackDown. The Scot wasn’t satisfied with it, so he placed a steel chair around Uso’s neck afterwards. ‘Big Jim’ was writhing in agony, but McIntyre showed no remorse. Cody Rhodes eventually arrived at the spot and went right after ‘The Scottish Psychopath’.

The Undisputed WWE Champion unloaded some well-placed haymakers on McIntyre and dumped him in the timekeeper’s area. Rhodes slid back in the ring to check on ‘Big Jim’. ‘The American Nightmare’, however, got viciously Claymored by McIntyre upon turning his back. It must’ve felt cathartic to the Ayr-born wrestler after what transpired last Friday.

Rhodes had smashed the WWE title right across his face, causing a DQ ending to their match. It was after that sort of an ending only when SmackDown GM Nick Aldis confirmed Rhodes vs. McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The clash will serve as a rematch to Wrestlepalooza, the main event of which saw ‘The Prodigal Son’ retain over McIntyre. The latter, however, has since gone on to continuously allege that the referee was in cahoots with Rhodes and gave undue advantage to the champ at various points.

‘The Chosen One’ also slammed the fans for cheering “Corporate Cody” over him despite all the evidence suggesting he pulled some uncharacteristic tactics to combat McIntyre. Next weekend in Salt Lake City is going to be an absolutely pivotal one for McIntyre, as one misstep there would relegate him to the back of the line.

Drew McIntyre accused Jimmy Uso of attacking Jacob Fatu

Jacob Fatu was ambushed by an anonymous figure last week. He was scheduled to face Drew McIntyre in a No. 1 contender’s match for the Undisputed WWE title. But the ‘Samoan Werewolf’ couldn’t compete due to the attack carried out on him. The angle was done to write him off WWE television for a while so that he could take care of his existing dental problems.

In kayfabe, the accomplice is still on the run. No prime accused has been identified just yet, but Drew McIntyre is under suspicion. He was lurking in the background last week when Fatu was talking to Cody Rhodes backstage. Moreover, the Scot had every motivation to take Fatu out of the equation so that he would automatically be next in line for Rhodes.

However, there’s no evidence against McIntyre at this point, and he has rigorously denied having any involvement in putting the former Bloodline member on the shelf. ‘The Scottish Warrior’, though, tried stirring the pot in the opening segment on SmackDown.

He asked Rhodes about his backstage conversation with Jimmy Uso, wherein the latter thanked the ex-AEW EVP for looking out for his cousin Fatu.

Rhodes later inquired how things have been between ‘Big Jim’ and his younger twin Jey Uso following that betrayal on Raw. The older of The Usos sought some wisdom from Rhodes on the matter by asking him how he would have felt being in that spot. ‘The QB1’ affirmed that he also has a brother, referring to Dustin Rhodes, in this business.

‘The American Nightmare’ advised Jimmy to do what’s best for him, as Jey’s just doing the same. Circling back to McIntyre’s confrontation with Rhodes, the Scot broached that maybe Jimmy Uso ambushed Fatu out of emotional turmoil stemming from the fact that his younger brother has another world title match in his kitty while Jimmy doesn’t.

The former 3MB member even alluded to ‘Big Jim’ taking some inspiration from his wife, Naomi. After McIntyre was done running his mouth and got challenged by Rhodes to fight him right away, Uso appeared at ringside and started unloading on the former two-time WWE Champion. It resulted in a match between the two, as already discussed in the beginning.
