Country-rap artist Jelly Roll will make his WWE in-ring debut at next month’s SummerSlam PLE in New Jersey. But before that, he guest-hosted the Wednesday episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! with Randy Orton as his special guest. ‘The Viper’ applauded the singer’s unprecedented commitment to train for his upcoming wrestling outing at MetLife Stadium.

The soon-to-be tag team partners were eventually interrupted by Drew McIntyre. He mentioned that Roll had shed over 200 pounds, but soon quipped that he was an inspiration to trailer trash all over the world. Taking to X, the Scot has now included Orton too in that category. The 14-time World Champion got into a brawl with the Ayr-born grappler on ABC’s late-night talk show.

Those in the studio were audibly fascinated by the prospect of two WWE stars going at it in real time. When the cameras panned back to capture Jelly Roll’s reaction to it, he seemed a bit perplexed and called for a commercial break. However, little did he know that Logan Paul would cut him off. The social media star’s arrival instigated a gush of boos, but he didn’t allow it to ruffle his arrogant behavior.

Paul came face-to-face with Roll and called the Tennessee-born artist a “greasy redneck prison rat.” The former US Champion followed it up with a slap across Roll’s face. Paul declared that it was his show now. However, out of nowhere, the Grammy-nominated rapper delivered a chokeslam to the outspoken Westlake influencer through a table. Roll had previously knocked Paul out cold at Saturday Night’s Main Event this past weekend in Atlanta.

Will Drew McIntyre put his miseries behind him at SummerSlam amid an ongoing sub-par year?

Drew McIntyre had returned after a month’s hiatus to have Randy Orton as his first opponent back. They shared the ring at Saturday Night’s Main Event in what was expected by many to be a way to overhaul ‘The Scottish Warrior’s’ string of losses in WWE. However, the end result was a pinfall loss for the Scot, yet again.

One might argue that the 40-year-old succumbed to an RKO due to ringside shenanigans between Logan Paul and Jelly Roll, but it does count as another setback for the ex-WWE Champion. Fans were already incensed with how the company has treated its top star ever since his feud with CM Punk ended last year. McIntyre has fallen short in every key aspect in 2025, starting with an underwhelming Royal Rumble outing.

The subsequent Elimination Chamber match brought more shame to ‘The Chosen One’ as he ended up being the first participant to be ousted from it. Although McIntyre dispatched longtime rival Damian Priest at WrestleMania, the Scot couldn’t quite close that rivalry on a high note. And now at the second-biggest WWE show of the year, he’s involved in a celebrity tag team bout, which hasn’t sat well with the majority of the fans.

What was Drew McIntyre’s role at last year’s SummerSlam?

In a massive contrast, Drew McIntyre was CM Punk‘s opponent at last year’s SummerSlam, as opposed to what the Scot is up to this year. Back then, ‘The Best in the World’ had just recovered from a torn triceps injury that McIntyre inadvertently inflicted on him during their Royal Rumble match lockup.

SummerSlam provided the stage for Punk and McIntyre to settle their score. Seth Rollins served as the special guest referee for the night and did his best to peeve both of his then-rivals. ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ ultimately emerged on top, and he took an early lead in what resulted in their trilogy that Punk won at last.

Now, keeping in mind that McIntyre has already fallen to Randy Orton just recently, it would be catastrophic if he were to end up on the losing side again at SummerSlam against Orton and Roll. The Scot will need a valiant effort from his temporary cohort, Logan Paul, to upset the babyfaces.
