Drew McIntyre, who’s currently off WWE programming, has finally posted about his whereabouts. The Scottish Warrior marked his presence at Jinder Mahal‘s wedding ceremony on Friday. In the following post, McIntyre could be seen sporting a turban in traditional Punjabi attire with Mahal and Heath Slater, completing the reunion of what used to be called the 3MB in WWE.
McIntyre wrote, “Band back together.” This was the former WWE Champion’s first public appearance since losing to Damian Priest at last month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event TV special. It was a steel cage match that saw Priest finally getting his revenge on the Scot for the latter’s trouncing of him at WrestleMania 41.

After the show concluded, the fans learned that McIntyre was lined up for an extended leave of absence from WWE. The ongoing hiatus isn’t related to his reported Hollywood role that he landed a while ago, but the details remain under wraps. Moreover, it has everything to do with personal reasons and looking after the minor injuries he’d been dealing with for some time.
🚨| Per WrestleVotes, There are currently NO imminent plans for Drew McIntyre to return to WWE programming, as he’s still recovering.

For those wondering if The Chosen One will be back in time for SummerSlam, it doesn’t seem likely. As per WrestleVotes, there are no imminent plans for McIntyre in WWE, as he’s still not over with his recovery process. It’s a huge setback for the fans, as they were hoping for the 40-year-old to assume a significant position on the SummerSlam card, which is making its two-night debut in 2025.
Drew McIntyre highlights fans chanting his name in Saudi Arabia
He may not have been in WWE physically of late, but it’s clear as daylight that Drew McIntyre never takes his eyes off what’s going on in the company. On Friday, WWE held the kickoff show to Night of Champions in Riyadh. At one point, when CM Punk labeled John Cena as his greatest rival in pro wrestling, the fans in attendance started serenading McIntyre’s name.

Even though Punk appeared to have taken a note of it, he didn’t bring the Scot up. Moreover, on last week’s SmackDown, a front-row fan signboard read, “WE MISS YOU DM HUNK.” It was placed right behind Punk, who had the Undisputed WWE title raised above his shoulders.
The Scottish Psychopath took a note of that sign and made sure to post it on X. In both of the aforementioned instances of WWE fans regurgitating their love for McIntyre, the denominator was common—CM Punk.

It’s not even debatable that the Ayr-born wrestler has been Punk’s most fierce belligerent since the latter’s return to WWE in late 2023. Their epic bloodbath inside Hell in a Cell from last year will go down as a watershed moment for both of them. The bar that Punk and McIntyre set might not be topped for a long time, which is a testament to their unmatched tenacity.
What made Drew McIntyre storm out of WWE arenas in recent years?
CM Punk’s return at Survivor Series might’ve been an all-time wrestling high for the majority of WWE fans. However, Drew McIntyre was not one among them. In fact, he was so livid that he chose to storm out of the Allstate Arena in Chicago. McIntyre made this revelation on Chris Van Vliet‘s Insight podcast, and while he understood it was a business decision by WWE, he was angered at a personal level.

The Chosen One added that he didn’t want to create a scene backstage that would’ve affected his coworkers, so he decided to exit the building on his own. A similar incident happened at this year’s Royal Rumble, where it was reported that McIntyre allegedly cursed backstage before leaving the place in absolute rancor.
Drew McIntyre confirms that he was genuinely angry last year when CM Punk returned at Survivor Series, and that he did leave the arena.

He later confirmed that what made it to the internet was indeed true. The former 3MB member was said to be upset with LA Knight trying to get his moves in during the men’s Royal Rumble match that ultimately downplayed the magnitude of McIntyre’s elimination. A deeply passionate wrestler like McIntyre always shows up no matter whether things go his way or not.
