CM Punk dramatically won the World Heavyweight title by beating Gunther at SummerSlam in a 30-minute classic. However, all came crashing down just five minutes later when he lost it to Seth Rollins, who shockingly cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. Doesn’t this sound like a deja vu of what happened with Drew McIntyre at last year’s WrestleMania? Back then, the Scot ousted Rollins for the coveted strap, but his obsession with Punk opened the floodgates for Damian Priest to seize his moment.
Seeing the exact same happen to his bitter rival Punk, ‘The Scottish Warrior’ couldn’t help but rejoice over it. Expressing his delight for Punk’s sorry fate in an interview with Cathy Kelly on the SummerSlam post-show, McIntyre iterated how karma plays out. The 6’5″ giant from Ayr noted that he kept an eye on what Rollins had been going through of late and deemed ‘The Visionary’ as his professional rival, unlike ‘The Best in the World’.
McIntyre reiterated that Rollins did to Punk what the latter had done with him. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ concluded by extending his wishes to Rollins for becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion. McIntyre hasn’t had a proper world title reign since 2021, but he seems more content with Punk crumbling down in agony at the moment.
Okay, I’m gonna have to say something about this. Karma’s a hell of a thing. I’ve been watching what’s gone on Raw with Seth (Rollins). Seth and I, professional rivals. Not like (CM) Punk and I. Seth has done exactly to Punk what Punk did to me, and tonight was the cherry on top. Congratulations Seth. You deserve it, and karma is indeed a b**ch.

These two men were engrossed in a year-long rivalry that resulted in a trilogy of matches. ‘The Second City Saint’ put an exclamation mark on his beef with ‘The Chosen One’ by settling the score within the confines of Hell in a Cell. They painted the canvas red with sheer brutality, and it even caused the Scot to receive 16 stitches to his forehead for closing up a wound.
Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul overcame tricky Jelly Roll and Randy Orton at SummerSlam
Drew McIntyre got back to winning ways at SummerSlam with Logan Paul by his side. They had a lopsided yet fascinating duo of Randy Orton and musician Jelly Roll to combat. Despite initial skepticism from the fans, this tag team showdown took everyone by storm. Roll, who’d been getting flak from a section of the internet, did enough to silence his naysayers.

He ate up a frog splash from Paul through the announce table. The Grammy-nominated artist’s real test came when he went face-to-face with McIntyre. Roll smacked the Scot across his face and even came up with a number of right-hand jabs. However, it only took McIntyre a Glasgow kiss to ground the 40-year-old singer. The latter also succumbed to a Claymore kick but was eventually pinned when ‘The Maverick’ delivered a picturesque frog splash to the singer-actor.

It marked McIntyre’s first win since April. Now that he’s done handling the celebrity business, the fans would definitely rally for him to be inserted into the main event picture on SmackDown. Tonight’s showdown between John Cena and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE title could determine McIntyre’s next major feud. ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ told Rhodes to his face that he’d be rooting for him to dethrone Cena. It’s because McIntyre wants to rip the world title off everyone’s favorite—Rhodes.
Is Drew McIntyre looking to start an all-celebrity stable in WWE?
It might be time for Drew McIntyre to look beyond the realm of celebrities and influencers in WWE. However, following his overwhelming success with Logan Paul, the 40-year-old Scot is thinking of expanding his connection with more social media dons like ‘The Maverick’.

After a victorious outing at SummerSlam, McIntyre tagged Druski, KSI, IShowSpeed, and Mr. Beast as four of his potential stable members. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ said that they could be like the Ministry of Darkness except for the fact that they wouldn’t be awful like that stable from the Attitude Era, which was led by The Undertaker.
Logan did a hell of a job tonight. What a stud. I’m thinking of starting a stable with all these social media dons. @druski @MrBeast @KSI @ishowspeedsui

It would be like the Ministry of Darkness….Except in 2025….And not god awful. pic.twitter.com/3Pavjnq4td
Nonetheless, it was clearly a playful post from the former two-time WWE Champion. His next step is much-awaited and would pretty much determine how things will pan out on SmackDown, considering he’s the biggest heel on that brand right now.
