With everything on the line, The Scottish Warrior went to extreme lengths to put on a classic. Now a report sheds light on a critical moment from the match where McIntyre was legit hurt.
According to PWInsider, the former WWE Champion actually busted his head open during the match. When CM Punk bashed him with the toolbox, the 39-year-old sustained an incision on his head. Following the match, he required 16 stitches to close the wound. However, the severity of the injury would only be determined after further evaluation.
Moreover, Punk and Drew required immediate medical attention following their match. Considering the brutality the two stars caused inside Hell in a Cell, it could be speculated that they are going to be out of action for a while.
