CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins were involved in a heated segment prior to WrestleMania XL. The trio had been at each other’s throats for months. Some considered this promo between the three superstars to be all over the place. However, it made for highly entertaining television, which also included Punk dropping a reference to Vince McMahon.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, McIntyre opened up about the infamous Raw segment. He said that just when one thought the promo could not get any more insane, it escalated further. According to the 38-year-old, everyone involved in the segment had to be quick on their feet. Moreover, they had to know exactly who they were in the industry if they wanted to compete at its top level.
The Scottish Warrior thanked Punk as that segment displayed to the world that McIntyre could go toe-to-toe with the Straight Edge Superstar on the microphone. He claimed that Seth Rollins also added heavily to what has now become a legendary segment. Furthermore, McIntyre revealed that it was the only topic people talked to him about recently.
When you thought it couldn’t get any more insane it kept escalating and escalating. You have to be quick on your feet and you have to know exactly who you are in this industry if you’re going to compete at the top level.

The segment eventually ended with Punk being announced as the special guest commentator for the World Heavyweight Championship between Rollins and McIntyre. Due to this, fans got to witness the iconic Money in the Bank cash-in by Damian Priest at WrestleMania XL.
Drew McIntyre reveals what it was like working with CM Punk
In the same interview, McIntyre talked about working alongside his arch-nemesis, CM Punk. He said that when the Voice of the Voiceless had a microphone in his hand, everyone could be assured that he would bring his A-game. The Scottish Psychopath believed that the former AEW star was still finding his feet back in the WWE the first time they were in the ring together.

The Chosen One claimed that Punk had realized this was not the same Drew McIntyre anymore. The second time they had a promo together, the Scottish wrestler could feel that the Best in the World was back to his best again.
The 2020 Royal Rumble winner knew that he had to perform in that moment. He could either step up to the veteran’s level or drown. This would mean that he simply did not belong at Punk’s level. However, he stepped up and was grateful that he had the opportunity to go back and forth with the 46-year-old.
