CM Punk and Drew McIntyre arguably had the 2024 feud of the year. The buildup to their match began in January, and their trilogy of matches concluded with a fierce and bloody Hell in a Cell showdown. This bout featured a ton of brutality, and the 39-year-old recently shared his thoughts on the same.
During a recent interview on Untapped, Drew McIntyre said that when he got hit with the toolbox, he saw blood pouring out within the first 7-8 minutes of the match. McIntyre mentioned how they had put in so much effort to build this rivalry for over a year, and now something unfortunate had happened right at the climax of their saga.
The SmackDown star said that it was one of those moments where he just had to push through. Considering the highly personal feud that they were having, this situation was kind of perfect. Furthermore, the doctors were on sight, and the referee communicated with those in the back, which helped ensure that he was alright throughout the bout.
“I got hit by a toolbox, and right away, I saw the blood spurt across the ring within the first seven, eight minutes of the match.

We’ve been building this story for a year, this was the culmination of this giant, and I was like, oh no, I’m bleeding out, and the lights are… pic.twitter.com/FJX2LjF5sI
As McIntyre said, him bleeding so profusely during the match was never actually supposed to happen. When Punk hit him with the toolbox over the head, he legitimately got busted open, and this was not a planned spot for the match. Later, it was revealed that the Chosen One needed 16 stitches following the incident.
Drew McIntyre promises to humble Logan Paul
Logan Paul has been a controversial addition to WWE. Some cannot separate him from his past and believe that he should have no place in the Stamford-based promotion. Others, on the other hand, are impressed by his aerial moves, his ability to draw heat, and his promos. It appears that Drew McIntyre is in the former camp and cannot wait to get his hands on the 29-year-old.

During the same interview on Untapped, McIntyre said that a lot of people from different sports and entertainment mediums have tried to transition into being WWE superstars. He believed that Logan Paul is someone who has done it exceptionally well. The Chosen One continued to shower massive praise on The Maverick.
Eventually, we’re going to have a match, and I’m going to chop him to pieces, and he’s going to be humbled.

However, McIntyre said that it was inevitable for them to meet in the ring. When that happens, he would humble the former United States Champion. He was going to hurl a tornado of insults at the social media superstar as he beat him down in the ring. The former WWE Champion even said that Paul would take the beating very well, as he has done most things in wrestling.
What are Drew McIntyre’s plans for WrestleMania 41?
Drew McIntyre had won the World Heavyweight Championship last year at WrestleMania XL, albeit only for five minutes. The Scottish Psychopath wanted to recreate a world title victory at this year’s show. However, his failures in both the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber rendered him unable to do that.

Now, it appears that McIntyre is headed for a WrestleMania program against the man who eliminated him from the Rumble and Chamber, namely Damian Priest. These two have had several interactions on SmackDown for the past few weeks. Furthermore, the 39-year-old has even called him out in interviews.
Two weeks ago, McIntyre laid Priest out with a Claymore. He leaned over him and told him that the Puerto Rican had taken everything away from him. Now, his only purpose was to make his rival’s life miserable. An official match-up is yet to be confirmed. However, these two will likely take each other on in a singles match at the Showcase of the Immortals.
