Drew McIntyre is known for shocking the WWE Universe and never misses a chance to mock them with a post on social media. Recently, he shared a picture with controversial AEW wrestler Jack Perry, which sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe. However, The Scottish Warrior revealed that he met another AEW wrestler before he met with Perry.
While speaking with Chris Van Vliet on the Insight podcast, Drew McIntyre mentioned that he flew to LA the night before AEW had a show. He met former WWE superstar Roderick Strong, and they had a nice chat, with Drew saying it was great to catch up. The Sinister Scotsman then ran into Jack Perry and his wife on the flight and posted a picture, which sent fans into a frenzy.
One thing Perry and McIntyre have in common is their connection to CM Punk. The 27-year-old wrestler got into a fight with The Best in the World backstage because the veteran decided not to use real glass during his All-In pre-show match. This led AEW co-owner Tony Khan to suspend the former Jungle Boy for over 7 months and terminate Punk’s contract.
I was flying to LA, and they just did a show the night before. I'd seen Roderick Strong at the airport, a buddy of mine, and we got to catch up, which was awesome. And then on the flight, just saw Jack, had a little chat with him and his missus, and then we snapped a picture, and the internet had a freaking meltdown.Drew McIntyre said via the Insight
Meanwhile, in WWE, the Voice of the Voiceless spent most of his time feuding with McIntyre. It all started earlier this year when he got injured in the Royal Rumble match because of The Scottish Warrior. The two stars continued their rivalry throughout the year, with McIntyre scoring a victory at SummerSlam and his arch-nemesis returning the favor at Bash in Berlin.
Drew McIntyre was all praise about fellow Scotsman Joe Hendry
Joe Hendry has matured into a popular wrestling personality. Recently, he talked about how fellow Scotsman Drew McIntyre became an inspiration for all Scottish wrestlers and paved the way for them to achieve something big. Now, the former WWE Champion has returned the favor by speaking about Hendry.

In the same interview with CVV, The Sinister Scotsman said that Hendry was killing it. He noted that while wrestling fans might have thought Hendry achieved overnight success, that wasn’t true. McIntyre knew how much hard work Hendry had put in to reach his current level. The 40-year-old veteran called him a “10-year overnight sensation.”
He's killing it. I mean to a lot of people it's 'oh my goodness, this overnight sensation Joe Hendry.' He's not an overnight sensation, he's been working hard, and he's been paying his dues. He's been perfecting a stick we are all seeing it right now. He's come so far in the ring and yeah, he's a 10-year overnight sensation.Drew McIntyre on Joe Hendry via Insight
The Prestigious One earned his first title opportunity in WWE for the NXT Championship. He faced Ethan Page at NXT No Mercy, with Trick Williams serving as the special guest referee. All Ego ended the match with a low blow behind the former NXT Champion’s back, followed by an Ego’s Edge, to retain his title. Only time will tell whether the Scottish star will get another title shot.
