The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk has been breaking all the barriers of insanity. The first round was won by The Scottish Warrior, who defeated his arch-enemy in a brutal match at SummerSlam. However, The Second City Saint wasn’t finished yet. McIntyre still had one cherished possession: a bracelet engraved with his wife’s name and his dog’s name.
While talking with Haley Miller of Comic Books, Drew McIntyre shed some light on what he was planning to do with the bracelet. When asked whether he had any intention of destroying the prized possession, the 39-year-old veteran stated that the idea of breaking it was too predictable and he wasn’t going to do that easily. In his mind, the former WWE Champion wanted to torture CM Punk with the thought that he might destroy it.
McIntyre also had additional plans in mind for what he intended to do with Punk during their match at Bash in Berlin. He revealed that, after he permanently retired the Best in the World, he planned to display the bracelet in a glass frame like a trophy. Speaking about their heated rivalry, the 39-year-old star appeared on the latest episode of Raw and tried to prove that Punk was a coward who only knew how to attack from behind.
I toy with the idea of breaking it but that’s too easy. It causes him just so much emotional hurt and stress It’s hilarious. Over something that’s, you know, just a piece of trash to me. Once I take him out of wrestling, I’ll probably frame it and put it in a nice little glass frame.Drew McIntyre via Comic Book
Ultimately, that’s exactly what happened, as the 45-year-old veteran came from behind and began attacking him with a strap. Interestingly, the strap will be the focal point when they collide again on August 31. It will be intriguing to see who emerges as the victor in Germany. Needless to say, regardless of who wins, the match between these two gladiators will undoubtedly be excellent.
Drew McIntyre acknowledged fellow Scotsman Joe Hendry on social media
Drew McIntyre is the type of wrestler who rarely shows affection to fellow wrestlers. However, there is one superstar he truly acknowledged on social media: fellow Scotsman, Joe Hendry. His rare but wholesome post about the TNA star was surprising, even for fans.
During an appearance at NXT, Hendry hosted a live concert and was walking backstage when he came across an image of The Scottish Warrior. He smiled at it, indirectly thanking him for paving the way for other Scottish wrestlers like himself. The 39-year-old star noticed this and replied with a GIF of his famous song, ‘I Believe in Joe Hendry.’
Hendry has made a lot of appearances on NXT despite being a TNA star. He has developed a rivalry with the current NXT Champion, Ethan Page, and will battle him for the title at No Mercy on September 1. Trick Williams will serve as the special guest referee for this match, and Hendry has promised to give him the first shot if he wins.
