For the second consecutive week, Drew McIntyre asked SmackDown play-by-play commentator Joe Tessitore if he had a medical update on Cody Rhodes, but to no avail. Consequently, the Scot proceeded with one of his own by labeling ‘The American Nightmare’ as a little bit*h. McIntyre then asked Rhodes to sleep with the WWE title belt and even take some selfies with it.
Because, as McIntyre affirmed, that championship belt is changing hands soon, and it’ll inevitably rest around the Scottish Warrior’s waist. The Ayr-born wrestler revealed that no one has chastised him backstage for launching that heinous assault on Rhodes a couple of weeks ago. McIntyre said it’s because they’re all gunning for Rhodes’ spot and he has no friends left in WWE.

Just then, Randy Orton appeared in the frame out of nowhere. Hissing like a true viper, Orton’s hilarious facial expressions before McIntyre turned behind were one of a kind. ‘The Chosen One’ eventually succumbed to an RKO. The two of them shared the ring not that long ago at SummerSlam, where ‘The Apex Predator’ and Jelly Roll lost to ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ and Logan Paul.
The planned main events for the 9/20 WWE WrestlePalooza event in Indianapolis were currently:

• WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre

It seems like Orton and McIntyre will continue beefing for the time being. While it’s not by any means a done deal, the fans could expect them to have a match at Clash in Paris to determine the No. 1 contender for the Undisputed WWE title. As per PWInsider, McIntyre vs. Rhodes with the championship on the line is reportedly set to take place at Wrestlepalooza next month.
Drew McIntyre wants to fight a motivated version of John Cena
WWE is in Europe for the next few days for a tour that’ll culminate in Paris. One of the major selling points of it remains Drew McIntyre. He recently sat down to chat with Daily Mirror Sport on a variety of topics. Neil Docking of the mentioned outlet asked the 40-year-old about that highly anticipated singles bout he’s yet to have with John Cena.

‘The Scottish Psychopath’ admitted that he hasn’t held back on his feelings about Cena and how they never got to share the ring in a one-on-one capacity despite being on the road for years. For someone like McIntyre, who’s always willing to punch above his weight, he views a potential showdown with Cena as an opportunity to prove that he can hang in there with the industry GOATs.
But I would love to get in the ring with Cena, this version of Cena, the version I’ve seen against Cody, that’s the John Cena I want to fight. You know, he didn’t come out on top in the end, but I’ll admit it was a hell of a match…….
Drew McIntyre on facing John Cena
He always wanted to have that lengthy feud with CM Punk and challenge the latter in a sphere he’s a master of—on the microphone. The Scot mentioned that the fans took note of how relentless he’d gotten with his verbal exchanges by leveling up with ‘The Best in the World’.
Likewise, the Scotsman is gunning to face the best version of John Cena, like the one he showed during his recent clash with Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. McIntyre lauded the kind of fight Cena brought to the table despite losing the WWE title.
Drew McIntyre explains why the fans outside of the US treat him better
While Drew McIntyre hasn’t held a title in WWE since WrestleMania XL, he’s had one of the most riveting character arcs in the company for such a sustained period of time. In the aforementioned interview, the erstwhile DM Hunk underscored the major difference between the wrestling fans in the US and those remaining around the globe.

McIntyre asserted that the audience in Europe, and pretty much every region outside of America and Canada, has been kind to him. He then segued into the fickle nature of the pro wrestling industry in terms of giving someone their flowers. After the Scot bled inside the Hell in a Cell with CM Punk, he had to cover a wound on his forehead with 16 staples.
….thankfully the people in the UK, generally around the world, not so much in America, see the story arc, see what I’ve been through and go, ‘you know what, if I was in Drew’s position, I’d probably feel the same way as Drew’.

That sidelined him for months, and no one from WWE, except a single person whom McIntyre chose not to disclose, reached out to him during that mentally stifling phase. At last, McIntyre once again praised the fans outside of America for understanding what he’s been through and not treating him like an unjustifiable heel.
