Drew McIntyre has stated that nothing he has bragged about in the past two years would matter if he ends up losing to Cody Rhodes again.

This Friday on SmackDown in Berlin, it’s going to be a make-or-break night for Drew McIntyre. He’s set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE title in a Three Stages of Hell match, the first-of-its-kind on the main roster since 2013. Just days prior to that highly anticipated showdown, the Scot had a lot to get off his chest, as evident by his latest social media post.
As could be seen below, McIntyre was set to walk out for his steel cage match against Rhodes at a recent house show in Worcester. But he bought a minute or so to assert that it’s now or never for him this Friday. ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ said he’s gunning for change by bringing an era of unpredictability, which wouldn’t happen unless Rhodes is at the tippy-top.
Friday feels like the biggest match of my career?

All the talk. All the mind games. Everything over the last 2 years means nothing if I leave Germany without the belt.
A new era….

While the Ayr-born wrestler did applaud his foe for doing a fantastic job as a champion and also with finishing his story, McIntyre alluded to things getting repetitive ever since then. McIntyre, though the villain in the story, came across as if he were speaking for the fans, with the former WWE champion yearning to freshen things up a bit. ‘The Chosen One’ said that even Rhodes needs a change for himself.
After claiming to have already ruffled the former AEW EVP mentally, McIntyre affirmed he’ll disintegrate him physically during their title match on SmackDown. The ex-3MB member compared ‘The QB1’ to Batman and himself to Bane after saying that he’s relegated ‘The American Nightmare’ to a dark place.
As such, if Rhodes could come out of it after McIntyre takes everything away from him, ‘The Prodigal Son’ would return as a better version of himself than ever before, emphasized the Scotsman. Before walking away, McIntyre said he felt undefeated but also admitted that he wasn’t sure what he’d call himself if he doesn’t walk out of Germany with the Undisputed WWE title.
Last week, ‘The Scottish Warrior’ made it extremely personal with Rhodes after burning an old-but-treasured picture of the ‘QB1’ with his late father. ‘The American Nightmare’ might’ve been restless since Friday night to get his hands on Drew McIntyre.
Will Oba Femi debut on this week’s SmackDown to cost Drew McIntyre?
While Drew McIntyre has majorly pinned the blame on the referees for losing his previous title matches to Cody Rhodes, the Scotsman might have a certain ‘Ruler’ to bark up to this time around. Just to remind, McIntyre interfered in Oba Femi‘s main roster debut match against Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event. And who knows if Femi actually might’ve put away Rhodes in a stunning upset had it not been for McIntyre causing a disqualification finish.

Femi and McIntyre had an intense staredown as well before the ‘Scottish Psychopath’ ended up taking a beating from both Rhodes and Femi to come out of it as the sore loser. ‘The Chosen One’ subtly ridiculed ‘The Ruler’ in a social media post immediately after the event by claiming that Femi would make hundreds of dollars selling the 8×10 photo frames depicting the chokeslam that Femi hit on McIntyre.

Taking their last encounter into account, it wouldn’t be entirely implausible to believe that Oba Femi would’ve been waiting for the right moment to get his lick back on the man who rained on his parade at SNME.
Last night at NXT’S New Year’s Evil, ‘The Bringer of War’ successfully defended his NXT title against Leon Slater and then left it in the ring before walking off. NXT GM Ava was stunned to hear about that when Robert Stone notified her in a backstage moment.

That could only mean one thing, and that’s the main roster call-up of the Nigerian wrestler, for which he was pegged since heavily impressing the WWE higher-ups with his performance at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Cory Hays of BodySlam has indicated that ‘The Ruler’ is expected to head to SmackDown, which might happen as early as this week’s show in Berlin if he were to cost Drew McIntyre against Rhodes. But that’s mere speculation at this point.
