The latest edition of NXT might’ve been the most eventful in recent times. One of the moments that shocked wrestling fans was when TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace appeared on the show. GM Ava Raine revealed Grace as the next challenger for Roxanne Perez‘s NXT Championship. Moreover, she knocked down the proverbial ‘forbidden door’ by doing so. Inspired by these events, Drew McIntyre teased going back to TNA for one more run.

The Scottish Warrior took to X and hinted at becoming the promotion’s world champion again. For those unfamiliar, McIntyre previously won the title during his two-year stint in 2016. Obviously, this was before he would return to WWE and launch himself into the stratosphere. Given the working partnership between both companies, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Scot receive a championship opportunity.

However, it seems that fans might have to wait for a potential second run. At the moment, McIntyre is the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw. The 38-year-old star is set to face Damian Priest for the title at Clash At The Castle. Almost two years removed from his failure in Wales, he’ll have a shot at redemption in his home country of Scotland.

At WrestleMania XL, Drew McIntyre finally won a world title in front of live fans. However, his obsession with CM Punk ultimately led to his downfall. The Second City Saint attacked his arch nemesis, allowing Priest to cash in the MITB contract and win the World Heavyweight Championship.

Drew McIntyre expressed his disappointment after WWE ‘spoiled’ his upcoming title match

WWE will be heading to the famous Madison Square Garden for the June 28 edition of SmackDown. The arena had advertised a World Heavyweight Championship match between Damian Priest and Jey Uso. Therefore, Drew McIntyre took issue with this as it spoils his title bout against the Archer of Infamy.

The former WWE Champion voiced his displeasure in the comments, visibly confused at the announcement. As mentioned above, McIntyre will be taking on Priest on June 15 in Scotland. Therefore, MSG seemingly jumped the gun by advertising the match in advance, despite the Clash At The Castle PLE taking place 13 days prior to the show.

Having said that, cards are always subject to change. As such, if McIntyre walks out of his home country with the championship, he’ll most likely be the one defending the title against Uso. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming weeks.
