Drew McIntyre has been in high spirits following his decisive win over CM Punk at SummerSlam. He has been consistently trolling everyone on social media in his usual style. Recently, The Scottish Warrior attended the Fanatics Fest event, which was held from August 16th to August 18th in New York. McIntyre had some interesting things to say about John Cena‘s retirement announcement.

During the event, the former World Champion was asked about John Cena‘s recent announcement that he would be retiring next year. The Leader of the Cenation returned at the Money in the Bank PLE and revealed that 2025 would be his last year as a wrestler. However, Drew McIntyre showed little concern and said that he would love to be the one to retire the 16-time world champion himself.

McIntyre further added that not only would he destroy Cena on the mic, but he would also defeat Cena in the ring. Additionally, The Scottish Warrior stated that he would ensure Cena’s retirement and send CM Punk along with him. The Doctor of Thugonomics announced that next year’s Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania would be his final events before he retires at the end of the year.

There was never a one-on-one match, if I have to drive management crazy, I’ll drive them crazy, I’ll drive John crazy, I’m gonna get that match and I’ll tear him apart on the microphone, which not everyone can do, in the ring and send him packing in a happy retirement and hopefully Punk along with him.

Speaking about McIntyre’s WWE run, he recently secured a victory over his arch-enemy Punk at SummerSlam. However, it seems that The Best in the World is not ready to give up yet, as he attacked McIntyre with a belt on the latest episode of Raw. According to rumors, both superstars will continue their rivalry in a Hell in a Cell match at the Bad Blood PLE.

Drew McIntyre didn’t like the dig CM Punk took at him at Fanatics Fest in New York

Drew McIntyre took another shot at The Second City Saint after the latter made fun of him at the Fanatics Fest event. When Punk was asked to say one good thing about his arch-rival, he stated that McIntyre was the best wrestler to have worn a kilt. The former World Heavyweight Champion saw this as an insult and decided to respond on social media.

McIntyre took to X to reprimand the interviewer for asking such a “poor” question to Punk. However, in his opinion, the 45-year-old star’s answer was even worse. The Scottish Warrior further mocked him, claiming that he was still living off the fame from the pipebomb promo.

Poor question. Shit answer. Phil has really been living off that pipebomb for 13 years. Let's see if these guys bring that energy when I'm with them at Fanatics Fest tomorrow.

The two men have been trading insults for quite some time since their rivalry began. Despite the loss, Punk is determined to seek revenge and fight him again. His band, with his wife and dog’s name still on it, being with McIntyre, motivates him to take it back from him. Only time will tell when The Best in the World will finally get his payback.
