Moroccan football star Achraf Hakimi was spotted driving the team bus through the streets of Paris at the 2024 Olympics. The video of the PSG player behind the wheel caught fans’ attention, and they eagerly shared their excitement on social media.

Achraf Hakimi is captaining the Atlas Lions at this year’s Olympics, hoping to win a gold medal at the event for the first time. They got off to a strong start, defeating former gold medalists Argentina. The PSG star played in his team’s 2-1 victory over La Albiceleste, which was marred by controversy. VAR ruled out Argentina’s last-minute equalizer nearly two hours after the match was halted due to fan violence.

The 25-year-old full-back is one of the three overage players in the Morocco squad along with Al-Ain forward Soufiane Rahimi and goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi. A video of the Morocco team bus driving through the streets of Paris, with a driver who closely resembled Achraf Hakimi, went viral, but it remained unclear if it was him. Moreover, Hakimi is known for his playful antics off the field, having once been captured acrobatically coming down an escalator.

Nonetheless, the African nation played against Ukraine on Saturday in their next match before facing Iraq in their final group game. With 78 senior caps for Morocco, Hakimi is expected to lead his team to glory this summer.

Moroccan skipper Achraf Hakimi expressed disappointment over the behavior of some supporters during the national team’s opening match at the 2024 Olympics. The Atlas Lions’ inaugural game was marred by controversy after it was halted for two hours due to a pitch invasion by fans.

The PSG star criticized the inappropriate behavior of a few fans, noting that such actions tarnish the positive reputation of Moroccan supporters. He expressed regret and stressed that such conduct has no place in football. Additionally, the ex-Real Madrid emphasized the importance of good sportsmanship in a social media message, stating, “Always Maghreb.”

Additionally, the match was further marred by contentious referee decisions. Moroccan fans were especially outraged by the referee’s decision to add 15 minutes of extra time.
