Comedian and actor Drew Desbordes, better known by his stage name Druski had the privilege of sharing a stage with Hall of Famer Barry Sanders on Thursday night. The pair was tasked with announcing the winner of 2025-26 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award, which went to the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
But things rarely have a smooth ending when Druski’s involved. That’s exactly what happened in front of a packed auditorium inside the Palace of Art in California. Druski took a glance at the screen of the Microsoft tab that contained Smith-Njigba’s name and tried his best to pronounce it as coherently as he could.
He messed up the first time, maybe there was a problem with the prompter? His second attempt was even more comical than the first one, because he blurted out the N-word. That definitely woke up the silent crowd.

In the end, Druski went with JSN, which he should have chosen from the start instead of stirring up the Seahawks PR team with his weak attempt at a classic name joke.

As it’s visible in the tweet, Smith-Njigba wasn’t in the building to receive the OPOY award with his own two hands. So, the Seahawks came up with the next best thing, a recorded video that played on the giant screen.
Obviously, JSN or any other Seahawks player couldn’t attend the ceremony because they are busy preparing for the biggest game of their careers. Three days from now, the Seahawks will take on AFC Champions, the New England Patriots at Super Bowl LX.
How did Jaxon Smith-Njigba perform in his Offensive Player of the Year campaign?
The title is self-explanatory. It goes to playmaker who had the most impact on the team’s success. Smith-Njigba had incredible numbers. While receiving from Sam Darnold, the third year wideout finished with league leading 1793 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 119 receptions.

He didn’t have to do much in the 41-6 win over the 49ers in the divisional playoff game, but still finished with a touchdown. It changed in the conference title game. While facing the Rams, Darnold went back to his favorite target. JSN racked up 10 catches on 12 targets for 153 yards and scored one touchdown as Seattle secured a narrow 31-27 victory.
