The Dubai Tennis Championships is the final event of the Middle East Swing. For the men’s and women’s tennis, the events fall under the categories of ATP 500 and WTA 1000, respectively. Jessica Pegula clinched the title by defeating Elina Svitolina in the final.
On the men’s side, Stefanos Tsitsipas will be playing as the defending champion. The three-time Grand Slam finalist defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final, 6–3, 6–3, becoming an ATP 500 champion for the first time (lost his previous 11 ATP 500 finals).
The Greek ace, however, hasn’t yet lifted a title since that triumph as he is struggling to play consistently due to his back issues. Before Dubai, Tsitsipas featured at the Qatar Open, losing in the quarterfinals to defending champion Andrey Rublev.
Auger-Aliassime is playing as the first seed, while Alexander Bublik, Daniil Medvedev, and Jack Draper are the second, third, and fourth seeds, respectively. The Canadian ace will be bidding to reach his third final of the season and win his second title, having clinched the Open Sud de France by defeating Adrian Mannarino. He then lost to Alex de Minaur in the Rotterdam Open final.
Bublik will also be chasing his second title of the season. He lifted the Hong Kong Open against Lorenzo Musetti, winning his fifth title since the 2025 season. The Kazakh ace, in fact, hasn’t yet lost a final since losing to Ugo Humbert in the final here back in 2024.
Medvedev, who is a former champion in Dubai, will also be aiming to win his second title of the season, as he beat Brandon Nakashima in the Brisbane International final. Last year, the 2021 US Open champion ended his title drought by beating Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final, winning his first title since the 2023 Italian Open. Since winning his career’s first clay-court title in Rome, he has yet to win a title above the ATP 250 level. Medvedev clinched the Dubai Open by defeating Andrey Rublev in 2023.
Draper will finally compete in a singles event since the 2025 US Open. Because of an arm injury, Draper was forced to withdraw from every event since he pulled out of the second round of the US Open. Earlier this month, Draper featured in a Davis Cup match but went on to withdraw from the Rotterdam Open.
Rublev, the champion in Dubai in 2022 (beat Jiri Vesely), will be chasing his first title since the 2025 Qatar Open, which he won by defeating Draper. In the Doha event this year, his run was ended by eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals.
