Dustin Poirier once held the title of interim UFC lightweight champion, and has faced several champions in the division. Currently, the Amercian fighter is seeking one final fight in the promotion. Among the various potential contenders, Poirier recently dismissed rising lightweight fighter Paddy Pimblett as his next opponent.
In his most recent UFC fight, Dustin Poirier faced Islam Makhachev at UFC 302. Following a tough submission defeat, Poirier indicated his intention to retire from the sport after one final fight. Despite this, he received significant interest from potential opponents, including speculation about a matchup with Paddy Pimblett. Speaking on the Jim Rome Show, the ‘Diamond’ addressed those rumors.
That’s an interesting fight, but not for my retirement fight, you know? It’s legends only, man.
