Dustin Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation announces news plans to help students during the Coronavirus pandemic
Dustin Poirier is well known for his charitable deeds. It all started when he auctioned his UFC 211 kit to raise money, it worked and that inspired him to start the ‘Good Fight Foundation’ along with his wife in April 2018. There was no looking back after that, his foundation has gone on to support a lot of needy people, with contributions from top MMA stars like Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
More recently, Poirier’s foundation announced that their next goal would be to help the school going children during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Taking to Twitter, Dustin Poirier announced it via. a video.
‘We want to help bridge the gap in academic success by providing transportation & tutoring for all 6 of their locations in 2021!‘ – Dustin Poirier
Dustin tweeted, “Happy Holidays! We are excited to announce that for our next goal we will be teaming up with The Boys & Girls Club of Acadiana! We want to help bridge the gap in academic success by providing transportation & tutoring for all 6 of their locations in 2021! http://Thegoodfightgroup.com“
In the video Dustin Poirier can be seen speaking about the plans he’s got for his Good Fight Foundation in the coming years. He can be seen saying :
“First, I want to say the pandemic has been tough on all of us. Our kids are not excluded from that. Schooling’s been crazy, it’s been tough times for everyone. So we wanted to team up with the Boys & Girls Club of Acadiana and their six locations and get behind their Project Learn initiative providing tutors for the year of 2021 to help the children academically and transportation for the year of 2021 to get the kids from the clubs back home safe and sound. These are our children, this is our future. Let’s fight the good fight.”
Dustin is scheduled to face Conor McGregor next at UFC 257, on the 23rd of January, next year. And Conor has pledged to donate half a million USD to Dustin’s foundation once their fight is over!
Big up, Dustin! A true ‘Diamond’ indeed!
