“He was going after LeBron!” Dwight Howard hilariously pleads Detroit Lions to hire Isaiah Stewart
Dwight Howard suggested that Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart may be better suited for the NFL after latest suspension in the NBA.
Isaiah Stewart called out for aggressive play by Dwight Howard
Isaiah Stewart has built up quite a reputation for himself for all the wrong reasons. The Detroit Pistons big man has grown a wild reputation for being one of the most prolific enforcers and short-tempered players in the league. His behavior over the years would suggest Stewart might be best suited for the NFL, or at least that’s what Dwight Howard feels.
The former NBA star joined the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast with Carmelo Anthony. The former NBA stars went over the current happenings in the NBA. After Stewart’s recent altercations across the league, including taunting opponents for their hobbies, Dwight Howard made a suggestion. He revealed why the 6’8″, 250 pound big man may be best suited to play in the NFL.
Howard referenced the incident from the Lakers’ 2021 season, which saw Isaiah Stewart run after LeBron James following a dust-up between the two. Coincidentally, Howards was present on the court at the time, playing what would be his last season in the NBA so far. He watched on as Stewart ran through security guards and players restraining him in an attempt to get to James.

As Dwight Howard said, with the number of dust-ups and fights that Stewart has been involved in, he may be better off playing in a more physically geared sport like Football. Given that he already plays for the Pistons, the Detroit Lions could certainly do with a 6’8″, 250lb Tight End or Linebacker – whichever is the position of choice for Stewart – especially after their heartbreaking early playoff exit this year.
Isaiah Stewart suspended by the NBA
Isaiah Stewart’s temper issues on the court are starting to catch up to the Pistons big man. On Thursday, he lost his cool on the court once again as the Pistons took on their brewing rivals, the Indiana Pacers. After shoving Pacers center Thomas Bryant to the floor following a bout of ongoing trash talk in the game, Stewart was handed a Flagrant 2 foul and ejected from the game.
This marks his 6th Flagrant penalty of the season, triggering an automatic suspension without pay from the team’s next game. ESPN Insider Shams Charania revealed that the NBA swiftly acted on the penalty, enforcing the one-game suspension on Stewart.

That’s not all. Isaiah Stewart’s suspension will not only cause him to lose pay for his next game, but the league also levied a $50,000 fine on him for making objectionable and obscene gestures after his ejection. If this trend continues, the Pistons may be forced to step in and take some accountability for their big man’s actions.
Isaiah Stewart is rapidly climbing up the technical fouls ladder as well. He is third in the league for total technical fouls, accumulating 9 technicals so far this season, behind only Dillon Brooks and Anthony Edwards. If he hits the 16 technical fouls threshold set by the NBA, Stewart could face another suspension from the league.
