The NBA offseason is up and running, with many teams and players already busy this summer. While many players are settled with their family and busy enjoying their summer vacations with their family and loved ones, some players are not lucky enough to witness these moments. This is none other than former NBA player Dwight Howard, who is going through one of the most difficult moments of his life, recently.
As per various sources, just 6 months in, Howard’s wife and rapper, Amber Rose (stage name- Amy Luciani), has filed for divorce, bringing an end to his marriage that once seemed like a beautiful love story that did not seem to have an end a few months ago. Despite this, Howard showcased a different version of his side on social media lately.
While going through the most difficult phase of his life, Howard sent a subtle and promising message to the world via his X account.
Hurting, but still smiling, still fighting, still believing.

On July 1, the rapper and reality TV personality filed the lawsuit in Georgia, stating that she and the former NBA player’s marriage is “irretrievably broken” and that there is no possibility of a reconciliation. Many were surprised by the news, but what was even more unexpected was Howard’s composed response.
According to early reports, Luciani wants half of Howard’s holdings and spousal maintenance in addition to ending the marriage. Howard’s estimated net worth is $140 million; therefore, if those requests are met, he might lose up to $70 million. After less than a year of marriage, everything. A figure that hurts more than any on-court foul.
Howard has been a proper entertainer in his time in the NBA, garnering immense reactions for his funny nature from the NBA fan base. Watching him go through all this did not sit well with many fans who made their thoughts known via social media.
Amidst ongoing divorce proceedings, Dwight Howard is playing in the Big3
One thing is for sure: Dwight Howard’s life after the NBA has not calmed down anytime soon. From attending Dance shows to playing hoops on the streets with fans, he has done it all. Interestingly, Howard is currently playing in the Big 3 tournament hosted by Ice Cube. For a couple of years, Ice Cube had texted and called Howard, who had not played in the NBA since 2022, to assure him that he would have a good time and be treated like the superstar he is.

That said, Howard doesn’t let all of the chaos(dealing with his wife’s divorce proceedings) distract him. He is neither playing the victim nor hiding. He decides to face the storm with faith, as he usually does. Although it’s not the conclusion he had in mind when he married, Howard has demonstrated throughout his career that he can bounce back from setbacks like this one.
This is something Howard is well-known for. He is not going to go down with a fight, even though one may think that he is, with the situation that he finds himself in. It will be interesting to watch how Howard’s matter unfolds in the coming days.
Dwight Howard recently sent the Lakers’ fan base into a frenzy with his social media post
The NBA fan base is on high alert this offseason, with many unexpected moves taking place, leaving no time for fans to take a breather. Notably, before signing Deandre Ayton, the Lakers were in immediate need of a starting center. In the midst of this, their former player Dwight Howard posted on X that tricked the whole Lakers’ fan base.
Don’t worry we gone bring one back for LA 🏆😤.

At the moment, Howard is a member of the Big 3 LA Riots. The timing of the post led some people to speculate about Howard’s potential return to the NBA, even though he was most likely speaking to his current Los Angeles team. However, that is not the case as the Lakers put all these rumors to bed by signing Ayton for their center position.
