NBA legend Dwyane Wade recently weighed in on the timeless “Greatest of All Time” debate in basketball. Wade emphasized that each individual’s perspective on the GOAT is influenced by the players they watched and idolized during their formative years. Openly sharing his own personal choice, he candidly admitted, “My GOAT has always been Michael Jordan because I grew up… look at the way I play. I tried to emulate Michael Jordan.”

However, Wade didn’t stop at just one GOAT. He revealed, “I had other players that were my favorites. Like, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant. These players also hold a special place in his heart, telling people how diverse influences can shape a player’s view of greatness. Wade recognized that each player’s journey is unique, leading them to form their own personal pantheon of GOATs, not confined to a single figure.

For Wade, the GOAT conversation goes beyond just one individual, as he said, “To me, it’s hard to call one GOAT, it’s a room of GOATs and these conversations that people can have that I can’t have that other guys can have.” He left “the room” open for newer players and opinions to be added as he highlighted that it’s just not his opinion that counts but everyone else’s too.

One of my friends, LeBron James is in that room. It’s a lot of GOATs in that room.” By including LeBron among the greats, Wade showcased his respect and admiration for both past and present basketball legends.
