Patrick Beverley claimed that his former Houston Rockets teammate James Harden was a better basketball player than Dwyane Wade.

- Dwyane Wade criticized Patrick Beverley for claiming James Harden is a better player than him.
- Wade emphasized that he believes no player is better than him, attributing others' success to health rather than skill.
- Patrick Beverley responded by highlighting his superior three-point shooting percentage compared to Wade.
Unlike his close friend and fellow draft-classmate LeBron James, Dwyane Wade had to retire a full seven years before he would have liked to.
He sure is three years older than the Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar, but at least he would have liked to play for a few more seasons, as another fellow draft-classmate, Carmelo Anthony, did.
Moreover, the Miami Heat legend was already struggling with injuries, which eventually fast-tracked his exit from the game he loved for his entire life.
Even trips away from the Heat did not help matters, as Wade struggled to resort to the explosiveness that led Shaquille O’Neal to give him the nickname ‘Flash.’
The 44-year-old is now busy spending time with his family, managing his business interests, and running his podcast, which has become quite popular due to his views. On the latest episode, Dwyane Wade had some choice words to say to a certain Patrick Beverley.
I don’t understand how you can have a conversation about me and state facts when you’re not as good as me… Pat, where is your facts to say that someone is better?… Don’t you ever fix your mouth to say somebody is better than me when you wasn’t better than me at anything in this game of basketball. You can’t do that.

This answer, and some more choice words, were a result of Beverley suggesting that James Harden was a better player than the three-time champion. From his response, it is clear that the comparison irked Wade, and he did not hold back when answering his fellow Chicago native.
Dwyane Wade reiterates his stance as a basketball player
It seems Patrick Beverley’s comments really stirred something inside Dwyane Wade, as he then went on to explain how ‘elite’ players such as himself were wired mentally.

In all of our minds, I don’t think no one is a better basketball player than me. I think they had better careers because they were healthy, not because they were better.
Dwyane Wade said
It seems the 13-time All-Star was trying to reiterate how he was wired during his career, and how that enabled him to become one of the best guards in NBA history.

All of these words came after Patrick Beverley compared Wade to James Harden. But that was not the three-and-D expert’s first tryst with saying something controversial.
It is clear that the comparison did not sit well with the 2006 Finals MVP, and he even had some things to say about the former Hapoel Tel-Aviv guard‘s ability, as not being good enough to even talk about him.
Patrick Beverley claps back at Dwyane Wade
After the latest episode of Dwyane Wade’s podcast went live, it was certain to catch Patrick Beverley‘s attention, and that led to the latter posting this.
Damn Flash Rent-Free, Truth is the Truth. And u was WRONG, I shoot the 3 way better than you. Our career 3-point percentages weren’t even close.
Patrick Beverley wrote on X
D Wade shot a measly 29.3 from 3.
Pat Bev shot 37.1.
7-3 record against you also.
This is a clapback of sorts from the former Milwaukee Buck by putting forward possibly the only statistic he can use to show he was better than the Miami Heat legend.

However, he will likely receive some blowback for this, as being better than a Hall of Famer based on his three-point percentage might be a weak attempt at best.
It might be a week until Dwyane Wade gets a chance to respond to this, and if he does, this could turn out to be a full-blown war on social media.
