While celebrating their Super Bowl win, Eagles fans took their mocking of Patrick Mahomes too far by burning a Kermit the Frog puppet.

The Philadelphia Eagles fanbase is known for their rowdy and wild celebration, but they seemed to have drawn inspiration from the Bills Mafia for the grand celebration of Super Bowl LIX victory. However, whether it a stupidity or not, they seemed to have taken a step further than the Buffalo fans to disrespect the Kansas City Chiefs’ elite quarterback Patrick Mahomes

While the Chiefs fans are convinced that the quarterback’s disastrous performance was a result of snapping his head hard on the turf early in the game, the Eagles’ fans are not convinced. In an attempt to mock the three-time Super Bowl champion and rub the dominating Super Bowl victory to his fans’ faces, they burned Kermit the Frog puppet, which is infamously compared to Mahomes.

Videos circulating on social media show fans setting fire to the stuffed animal while chanting “F**k the Chiefs,” directed at Mahomes and his team. Using the Kermit puppet, they were referencing the recurring jokes about the three-time Super Bowl MVP’s voice resembling that of the Muppet Character.

Back in November, the Bills mafia targeted the Chiefs’ signal-caller with the Kermit comparison by hanging the puppet from a pole dressed in his No. 15 jersey. This out-of-line disrespect was publicly called out by Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, after the Bills sustained the humiliating loss at the AFC Championship game in January.

Philadelphia endures another night of chaos after Eagles’ Super Bowl win

The burning of the puppet was just one incident in a night of chaotic celebrations. While it can’t be denied that the Eagles fans don’t know how to celebrate, they simply don’t know where to draw the line between celebration and stupidity. And all the memes on social media about the distress of Philadelphia police following the Super Bowl feat were another example of it.

Reports from Philadelphia detail vandalism, looting, and several clashes with the police. One video even showed fans looting a laundry truck and setting the stolen items on fire. The Philadelphia police reported 47 arrests from the night for vandalism and assault on police.

The city endured similar incidents from the night of the NFC Championship victory over the Washington Commanders, where the police made 31 arrests in street antics.

These wild behaviors from Philly’s fanbase have drawn widespread condemnation, with many calling such behavior classless and disrespectful.
