Philadelphia Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman spoke to the media at the Combine on February 25, admitting to having an almost “unhealthy” obsession with bolstering the offensive and defensive lines. Did he accidentally reveal too much about the Philadelphia Eagles’ plans this offseason?
According to the latest rumor from insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the obsession could lead to a trade for Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett. Garett, 2023 Defensive Player of The Year, expressed his desire to leave Browns after the string of unsuccessful seasons.
Furthermore, The Eagles are set to lose several key players to free agency, including linebacker Zack Baun and defensive tackle Milton Williams. According to Russini, General Manager Howie Roseman may be allowing some of these players to walk in order to free up cap space for a potential blockbuster move acquiring Myles Garrett, a potential future Hall of Famer.
Here’s what some people are saying right now: That Howie’s willing to move on from some of these guys because he’s looking to take a big swing. And that big swing would be for Myles Garrett. Some of these guys that you think are a sure thing may not be a sure thing to return to Philly.
Dianna Russini said on the February 28 episode of her Scoop City podcast

However, despite that it doesn't necessarily impact chances of getting a deal done with Zack Baun.

The Eagles have established themselves as a fearful contender for the next few seasons with their current roster comprising of Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, Cooper DeJean, AJ Brown, among others. With Philadelphia focused on maximizing their Super Bowl window while Jalen Hurts remains in his prime, a blockbuster trade for Garrett would align with their aggressive, win-now approach.
How much does Myles Garrett value?
Opinions on Myles Garrett’s trade value vary across the league. One NFL high level executive told insider Jordan Schultz that he would be willing to trade two first-round picks and more for the star pass rusher. It is not confirmed whether this could be Howie Roseman or not.

Meanwhile, another executive believes that at 29, Garrett’s value might be slightly lower, suggesting a deal could be completed for one first-rounder and an additional second-round pick.
One NFL GM on what a trade for Myles Garrett could look like:

“Probably a 1+. Can’t wait for the
“It will be 3 1s” crowd. Not happening.
1 and a 2. 1 and 2 3s. Throw a player in there.” https://t.co/xGRlikiwr2
The pass rusher market is poised for significant movement, making it a storyline to watch closely. With Myles Garrett publicly requesting a trade from Cleveland and stars like Maxx Crosby, Trey Hendrickson, T.J. Watt, and Micah Parsons all seeking new deals, the landscape for elite edge rushers could shift dramatically.
While acquiring him would come at a steep cost, Garrett is set to earn $19.8 million in 2025 and $25 million in 2026, history has shown that elite pass rushers are often worth the price when chasing championships.
