Eagles GM Howie Roseman’s public act of fighting antisemitism during NFL Draft goes viral

Howie Roseman, the Philadelphia Eagles General Manager, is considered the reason behind the franchise’s success, given, that he brought Philly its first Super Bowl trophy. This offseason as well, he proved his three-dimensional thinking with tons of applauding moves to strengthen the team.
But apart from his smart moves in the 2024 NFL Draft, there’s another thing that brought the Eagles into the spotlight– especially Roseman. The Athletics highlighted that the Eagles GM, who became the youngest General Manager at the age of 34, in the history of NFL, wore a blue pin on his label during all three nights of the NFL draft.
The color ‘Blue’ holds great significance in Judaism and it’s also the color of the National Flag of Israel, combined with ‘white.’ Roseman is widely known as an Israel supporter. Therefore, wearing the blue pin on a platform as big as the NFL represented his support against Jewish hate and fighting antisemitism.
For Roseman to stand up to Jewish hate was essential with the growing antisemitism among young Americans.
Howie Roseman’s commitment to his Jewish roots
Previously, in July 2023, Roseman addressed his deep connection with Judaism when the board chair of the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, Steve Rosenberg, asked him how he could use his position to help the Jewish people to fight against antisemitism.
The Eagles GM, made an appearance at the 8th Annual Jackie & Hank Herskowitz Sports Night.

The Jewish Hall of Famer has always been outspoken about his culture as Judaism is essential to who he is. But as he doesn’t do many public events, his Judaism never comes on display.
