It is no secret that the New York Giants’ fans do not like the Philadelphia Eagles. One of the oldest rivalries in the NFL has led to fans, players, and coaches talking back and forth on numerous occasions. Recently, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni taunted Giants fans with a cheeky message that ended up triggering wild reactions on social media.

During the press conference today, the fourth year head coach said this about his dealings with Giants fans;

You know sometimes you see Giants fans around here with being so close. They give me a good like 'Hey go Giants', and I typically let it go. But if a guy gets me good enough, I usually say, 'You know, (we) got your best player'.

This is probably the cheekiest shot anyone associated with the Eagles could throw at a New York Giants fan. Nick Sirianni took the latest and most obvious blow to their famed rival.

After all, when news broke that Saquon Barkley signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, the loudest to talk about it were Giants fans. They could not fathom that one of their own skipped town and ended up with their longtime rivals.

It even led to a former Giants great, going on the attack on Barkley on social media. But so far Saquon Barkley has shut down the noise as he focuses on becoming a part of a lethal offense. Something he could not be a part of in his six seasons there.

Nick Sirianni gets the heat for brutal taunt

Had Nick Sirianni used anything else to continue the rivalry that has captured the imagination of the NFL for so long, it could have been alright. But using the Saquon Barkley signing is a below-the-belt blow to the New York Giants fan base. It is true that the Philadelphia Eagles went out and signed the best player on the Giants. But to rub it in was a bit too much for fans of the game to take.
