This Sunday’s NFC Championship game is historic. For the fans of the Washington Commanders, it is significant. They have been through a lot, having survived a controversial owner and two name changes to the team. It is their time to shine as rookie Jayden Daniels and new HC Dan Quinn have taken them to a place they were last a part of in 1991.

The team’s fanbase is ensuring they pull no stops to show the team their support this weekend. Although the NFC Championship is in Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, the Commanders’ fanbase is making an effort to make their presence felt.

The ticketing platform TickPick reported that 21% of their purchases for the NFC Championship game have come from the States of Maryland and Virginia. That means the Philadelphia crowd will have some competition while cheering for the hometown heroes because the fans of their divisional rivals will make their chants heard by the players on the field.

One thing is certain, Tom Brady’s prediction of the game coming down to the wire will be true this weekend.

The Eagles-Commanders NFC Championship game is the most expensive in NFL history

The game will feature a packed crowd at Lincoln Financial Field. Both fanbases are attempting to get their hands on tickets and the prices for the tickets are surging. They have set a new record for being the most expensive ones in NFC Championship history.

A ticket to catch the game from the standing room is retailing for $492 on StubHub. If one wants a seat, then it will set them back anywhere between $800 to the most expensive one, retailing for $4,357.

These prices are double that of the AFC Championship tickets. Fans are paying anywhere between $276 to $2,234 for tickets to watch a rematch of Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes in the postseason. It may seem shocking because the Bills-Chiefs rivalry dates back to the 1960s. However, the NFC Championship is an expensive affair to attend because of Lincoln Financial’s limited capacity.

The stadium has 10,000 fewer seats compared to Arrowhead Stadium. Besides, it is easier for fans based out of D.C. to travel to Philly as it is a 2.5-hour drive. Even though Commanders’ fans will swarm Lincoln Financial, the local fanbase will be spread across the city. With watch parties organized in public places and tailgating outside the stadium, the Eagles’ fanbase will make sure they try their best to silence the visiting fans’ chants.
