Eagles Not Looking to Trade AJ Brown Anymore After Negotiations with Rams and Patriots Fell
After making it clear they are not trading AJ Brown before last season's deadline, the Eagles are in negotiations with teams this offseason.

- Eagles have decided not to trade AJ Brown after negotiations with the Rams and Patriots.
- Brown's frustrations with the offense have been noted, but he clarified they are not related to quarterback Jalen Hurts.
- The Rams remain interested in Brown, but no trade is imminent at this time.
While other players became headline-worthy material during this NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles were quietly working to find AJ Brown a new place of work.
There was no doubt that the star wide receiver was visibly frustrated this past season and has been subtly throwing shade at the offense. He did clarify that it had nothing to do with quarterback Jalen Hurts, but fans felt some tension between them.
Then, it was rumored that star running back Saquon Barkley tried to mediate. However, none of those efforts managed to bring a smile back to Brown’s face.
It was understandable, considering he was frustrated for most of the games. And when the Eagles tried to make him happy with a lot of throws, his body language proved he did not trust his teammates.
Clashes with head coach Nick Sirianni were eventually dismissed as being a heat-of-the-moment thing, but there were rumors that it may have pushed AJ Brown out the door.
After serious conversations with both the Rams and Patriots, the Eagles will not trade A.J. Brown at this time, according to multiple league sources. Both teams remain interested, but no move is imminent. If a trade were to happen, it would likely heat up closer to June 1.

This means that the Eagles have not yet opened the door for their leading pass catcher to leave them immediately to either the Rams or the Patriots. However, as per The Athletic’s lead insider, the door is not permanently closed either.
Rams were big on AJ Brown
When AJ Brown expressed his frustrations as subtly and cryptically as he could, it became apparent that he either wanted to move or wanted things to change in Philadelphia.
To make things easier, the Eagles fired offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after many pointed out that he was favoring Jalen Hurts at the expense of the others.
Despite that perceived imbalance, AJ Brown still managed to rack up his fourth consecutive 1000-yard season. Maybe that explains why the Los Angeles Rams were keen on trading for him.
A.J. Brown trade discussions are not dead. Last week, I was told the Rams discussed trading for Eagles WR A.J. Brown before dealing for CB Trent McDuffie. Dialogue slowed, but Los Angeles continues to monitor the status of the three-time Pro Bowler with interest. We’ll see where both parties go from here.

Even though the trade discussions are seemingly dead for now, the Rams could still be in play for the Ole Miss alum. Their situation is a bit more complicated after trading for Chiefs standout defensive back Trent McDuffie and then handing him a massive contract.

However, with their Super Bowl intentions as clear as night and day, the franchise could still find creative ways to entice the Eagles to part with their best receiver.
AJ Brown could still become an integral part of Eagles’ Super Bowl run
After winning Super Bowl LIX, the Philadelphia Eagles let go of a few veterans on defense, while keeping almost everyone on offense, as they felt continuity would possibly pave the way for a successful championship defense.

However, not only did the defense struggle initially, but the offense looked vastly different with Kevin Patullo calling the plays. After that disappointing run, thankfully, the franchise understood it needed to tweak the roster and staff.
The hope is that new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion would help bring balance back to the unit that produced some electric performances on their way to winning Super Bowl LIX.
If that happens, AJ Brown would still be one of the major reasons for their return to form. After all, his mere presence and glue-like hands tend to pull defenders his way, leaving the others to exploit mismatches.
