It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that criticism is part of the job. Fans adore players and coaches for winning championships and call them out during a slump. Kevin Patullo knew what he was walking into the moment the Philadelphia Eagles made him the offensive coordinator.
Kellen Moore, his predecessor, set the bar very high before leaving. The Eagles won the Super Bowl with Moore running the offense from the sidelines.
Patullo has done a decent job for the most part. The Eagles are 8-4 and third in the NFC. However, the offense lacks cohesion. The tension between top players has stalled the offense.
The Eagles have won several one-score games, with a margin of fewer than five points. Back-to-back losses against the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears have alarm bells ringing in Philly.
In the aftermath of the loss to the Bears, a few unruly fans decided to vandalize Kevin Patullo’s house in New Jersey. Patrullo claimed that this act crossed a line.
It’s perfectly acceptable to sit up here and talk about what’s going on, how to fix it, what we’re going to do going forward, and we know that. But when it involves your family, obviously, [egg throwing at his residence] crosses the line. And so, that happened. At this point, we’ve just gotta move on. We’re trying to win. That’s all we want to do is focus, whether it’s my family, whether it’s the team, all we’re trying to do together is focus on this week.

According to ESPN, the Eagles have the highest-salaried offense in the NFL and are averaging just 22.5 points per game, including 15.5 over their past four outings. In an even more concerning trend, last year’s offensive player of the year, Saquon Barkley, has rushed for 740 yards from 198 carries and scored 4 touchdowns.
If Patullo doesn’t fix the Eagles’ offense quickly, then teams like the Chargers and the Bills may take advantage down the line.
Kevin Patullo has the confidence of the Eagles’ head coach
The Eagles are in a good spot to make the playoffs. They have very winnable games, including fixtures against the 2-10 Raiders and home and away ties against the 3-9 Commanders.

Technically, the Eagles can qualify with just two wins. But head coach Nick Sirianni would prefer to win every game to build momentum.
No Eagles fan wants a repeat of the late-season collapse similar to the 2023 campaign. Sirianni had to take over playcalling duty for a couple of games and prevented complete misery. The heroics mattered little as the Packers defeated them in the wildcard round.
It wouldn’t shock anyone if Sirianni took over as OC, but he won’t. Moreover, firing Patullo is off the table as well.
Sometimes when you think it is just one thing, you’re able to do different things, and make changes. But that’s not the case, and that’s not how I feel with that.

Additionally, Sirianni also chose to ignore the vandalism report. Instead, he assured the fans that he and Patrullo are working hard to fix the offense.
We’re working like crazy to get going. To get it going better. Had a little bit of time this week to reevaluate some of the things we’re doing and how we can get better off that.

Veteran sports contributor and host Craig Carton questioned fans targeting only Patullo.
They’re in first place! If you’re upset with the Eagles, how come you’re not egging Jalen Hurts’ house? How come you’re not egging Saquon’s house? Have the balls to egg the houses of the players who aren’t playing well.

Jalen Hurts has taken some of the blame for the stale offense, even though his numbers tell a different story. After 12 games, the Super Bowl winner has completed 66.1% of his passes for 2843 scrimmage yards, 27 total touchdowns, and just 6 interceptions. Hurts must bring his best in week 14 if the Eagles wish to defeat the Chargers.
