Jalen Hurts and his Philadelphia Eagles could not end their Super Bowl LIX defense with another ring after an embarrassingly poor performance from the offense.
The defense did its part and had improved over the season for what is still a very young unit. The offense, on the other hand, has the superstars, but their end product left many surprised. During the season, Eagles fans complained that the creativity was missing, prompting them to chant during a game to get offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo fired.
The franchise did make some slight changes, but it did not fix the problem. Now, after a flat show in the Wild Card round against the San Francisco 49ers, many demanded the Eagles do the right thing. They did, and Kevin Patullo was fired from his role earlier. As this news started to spread, some wondered who the Eagles should hire to maximize that offense.
‘What’s best for Jalen Hurts?’ needs to be the first question and the priority. He should be a part of this process as well, as far as figuring out who is going to be the next offensive coordinator.

The former defensive tackle believes it is imperative that the franchise involves Jalen Hurts in this hiring process, as the offense has to revolve around his skills.

This should not be another example of getting any top OC available and working with him. Rather, the Eagles’ chances of success down the line depend on who can work with their quarterback.
LeSean McCoy believes Jalen Hurts is also at fault for Eagles’ offensive struggles
After their season came to an end at the Wild Card round, former Eagles’ star LeSean McCoy claimed that the offense’s struggles were due to Jalen Hurts‘ incapabilities. After receiving a lot of backlash, the running back came up with some arguments.
You want to talk about the Super Bowl. Cool… The Super Bowl’s one game… When we got there, we didn’t do a lot of exotic offensive motions… Our running back is one of the best talents you are going to find. So we got away with it. Why are players reading books at halftime?
LeSean McCoy said on Speakeasy
The two-time Super Bowl champion believes that it was not as if his former team were running complex motions with Kellen Moore or Shane Steichen running the show.
Instead, the offense was successful last season due to Saquon Barkley and the offensive line’s exploits. When the Kansas City Chiefs tried to counter that in Super Bowl LIX, Jalen Hurts took the opportunity to have one of his best games.

McCoy continues to expose Hurts for his lack of skill at the quarterback position.

Other than that, as has been evident over the past two years, the Oklahoma alum has not been good enough. Therefore, McCoy believes the blame should not just be on the coordinator.
Jalen Hurts and Kevin Stefanski have a heart-to-heart in Hard Knocks
With Hard Knocks covering them, the NFL felt that if Jalen Hurts and his Eagles defended their crown, viewers would get a first-hand insight into what goes on within a championship-winning team.

Instead, in the season finale episode that aired earlier, the quarterback had a heart-to-heart with head coach Nick Sirianni in the team’s meeting room.
We’ll be back.
Jalen Hurts said
Hearing this, a seated Nick Sirianni replied:
I have no doubt.

Their facial expressions show that this was not how they wanted to end their season. Despite all the talent at their disposal, they could not muster up enough points to defeat an injury-riddled team.

This loss will be talked about for a long time, as this team was primed to repeat as Super Bowl champions, not just this season, but also compete for the next few years.
