The Philadelphia Eagles crushed the Kansas City Chiefs‘ three-peat aspirations at Super Bowl LIX in a 40-22 drubbing. Some might say that the Chiefs’ reign of terror came to an end on Sunday night. The Eagles winning the Super Bowl had its fair share of comparisons from the WWE world. The most notable comparison was undoubtedly that of the Eagles’ triumph being similar to Cody Rhodes finishing his story at WrestleMania XL.
Almost two years ago, Rhodes entered the Showcase of Immortals looking to finally win his first WWE Championship. However, the reigning champion, Roman Reigns, extended his record-breaking reign by defeating Rhodes. A year later, The American Nightmare would finally emerge victorious at WrestleMania. Interestingly, the Grandest Stage of Them All took place at none other than the Eagles’ home stadium, Lincoln Financial Field.
Similar to this storyline, the Eagles failed to beat the Chiefs in 2023, falling short in their pursuit of the Super Bowl. Fast forward to last night, the Birds displayed a commanding performance and win over the back-to-back champions. Additionally, Jalen Hurts secured the MVP, becoming only the third quarterback to secure a win over Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Rhodes is currently reigning at the top as the Undisputed WWE Champion. The 39-year-old star has led the charge amidst WWE’s ongoing boom period. Needless to say, Cody Rhodes will continue to be the quarterback of the Stamford-based promotion for many years to come.
WWE Universe reacts to Eagles’ Super Bowl triumph
As mentioned, WWE fans reacted to the Super Bowl result by drawing comparisons to Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania XL win. Some fans even joked that the NFL copied WWE’s script, while a few called the finals rigged. A fan also questioned whether it was Triple H who booked the Super Bowl.

One user claimed that both Rhodes and the Eagles defeated their respective ‘Chiefs,’ a reference to Roman Reigns’ Tribal Chief persona. Another fan hilariously compared the halftime show to Rhodes’ match against Reigns.

The user claimed that Kendrick Lamar dissing Drake was similar to how The Undertaker appeared to attack The Rock last year. Meanwhile, a few fans, unhappy with both results, proceeded to take jabs at both the Eagles and Rhodes.
