Here is a East Bengal News. According to the recent statements from the Sree Cement officials, East Bengal are set to participate in the India Super League season 8 after the successful negotiation between the club and their sponsors, Shree Cements.

It is also reported that Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of the West Bengal, negotiated the deal between both the parties. She had slammed Shree Cements for their behavior with one of the oldest clubs of Indian football.

Shree Cement Chief Financial Officer, Subash Jajoo, said to the official media:

We want to play. There were some differences so we could not sign the agreement. But since you (Mamata Banerjee) have requested, we have decided that we will participate in ISL. Mamata Banerjee has helped us (East Bengal) to play in ISL this season. I also thank Sree Cement for their co-operation

What Mamata Banerjee said to the media regarding the East Bengal-Shree Cements negotiations?

After brokering the peace deal between Red and Gold outfit and Shree Cements, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was elated to share the information that the football club will feature in the India Super League 8. She said her famous election quote, Khela Hobe on the occasion. He said:

Khela hobe (the game is on). I'm very happy today
All is well that ends well. They had some uncertainties till now whether they would be able to play in ISL but now East Bengal's problem is solved. Shree Cement has accepted my request (to extend the deal) with East Bengal and have accepted all my proposals. Go and shake hands and I will remain in between,

She also said that all fans across the Bengal will be happy. Mamata Banerjee also said that the fans of Mohun Bagan will also be happy with this news.

On the other hand, East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar said:

Didi has always been with us. For her, we could install floodlights at the club grounds. Just like last year, this year too Didi has rescued us. I just cannot thank her enough. 'Khela hobe' slogan couldn't have been more apt today

In the previous season, Robbie Fowler’s side finished ninth in the league. The team will look to perform better in the eighth edition of Indian Super League.
