Ever since the departure of Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, the Denver Broncos searched for a quarterback to build their team around, and Bo Nix fits the bill perfectly. Former Broncos wide receiver Ed McCaffrey backed Nix to be successful with the team.
McCaffrey received valuable input from his youngest son, Luke McCaffrey (Washington Commanders), who played with Nix in the Senior Bowl. According to McCaffrey, leadership comes naturally to the Oregon graduate.
On senior day, players from different systems band together to showcase their talent. Nix picked up the coach’s calls and applied them to his game effortlessly.
The initial days with the Broncos were those of struggle, as he was still adapting to Sean Payton’s system. Once he got the hang of it, the 24-year-old dominated the opposition. After throwing a few interceptions early on, Nix recorded 16 touchdowns—11 in the last four to lead the Broncos to seven wins in twelve games.
McCaffrey placed Nix beside Washington’s rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels in the same bracket for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.

Ed McCaffrey sees Bo Nix leading the Broncos into the playoffs
There are five games left until the regular season wraps up. The Broncos currently sit just outside of the automatic qualification from the AFC. It will not be easy, as teams like the Ravens, Chargers, Steelers, and Texans want the same. On top of it, two spots, the Chiefs and the Bills, have already locked two slots, making their job even harder.
McCaffrey, who won three Super Bowls during his playing days, understands the importance of qualifying for postseason football, which isn’t easy considering the Broncos have the Chiefs in the division.
The Broncos’ path to the playoffs isn’t easy. After playing the Browns on Monday night, they still have to face the likes of the Bengals, Chargers, and the Chiefs on the final day.
