Christian McCaffrey‘s season took a devastating turn on Sunday during the San Francisco 49ers 10-35 loss against the Buffalo Bills. The All-Pro RB ended the game after just 7 carries for 53 yards.
The 28-year-old slipped midway through the game and then hobbled off the field, straight to the medical tent. Later, the 49ers announced a possible posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury. However, they are still in the process of discovering the exact manner of his injury.
Meanwhile, his father and former NFL wide receiver Ed McCaffrey expressed his thoughts about the situation on the latest segment of Up & Adams. The 3x Super Bowl winner revealed it was very emotional for him to witness his son picking up another injury.
McCaffrey’s season is more than likely over for this year. The former first-round pick will go back to rehab, and his father has faith in his ability to come back stronger.

Christian McCaffrey is a crucial cog in the 49ers machine
The Niners missed the services of the Offensive Player of the Year throughout the season. Kyle Shanahan’s attempts at a patchwork barely stayed on. They rushed him back from rehab and reinstated him on the team.
McCaffrey played four games for the Niners before injuring himself once again. Shanahan claimed the Stanford graduate looked really good leading up to the Bills game until the unfortunate end in the snow.
Bills reporter Sal Capaccio provided some positive news about McCaffrey. According to him, the Pro Bowler was walking without any additional support in the locker room after the game.
Just saw 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey walk by us very slowly, using crutches, with a large brace on his right knee.

McCaffrey has 50 carries this year for 202 yards and 15 receptions for 146 yards. He signed a two-year, $38 million contract extension with San Francisco back in June.
