Golden Boy Promotions has regained his former glory after having a slump in the sport for some time. This happened after Ryan Garcia defeated Devin Haney in an unexpected and splendid way. Hence, ever since then, Oscar De la Hoya has been on cloud nine and has been trolling people online. This was seen when he commented on Eddie Hearn‘s social media posts, which prompted the British promoter to respond to his comments.
After Haney’s loss, his promoter, Hearn, posted on Instagram that he would come back stronger. This prompted De La Hoya to throw shade at them, and he claimed that Hearn has no idea what he’s talking about. He also threw shade at him by mentioning how Hearn has never boxed as a boxer. Furthermore, the Golden Boy promoter stated that after a beating like that, nobody can remain the same. Subsequently, Hearn responded to this back and forth during a recent interview with Boxing Social.
I really don’t have any emotion towards Oscar De La Hoya. He’s one of the greatest fighters of all time, he’s just a little bit obsessed.

Eddie Hearn commented on how De La Hoya is different when you meet him face-to-face compared to his presence on social media. The British promoter also called De La Hoya a stalker for commenting on any photo in which Hearn was present.
He also remarked how it is flattering that the former champion speaks about him endlessly. Furthermore, Hearn stated that Oscar De la Hoya mentioning him so often is actually good for his presence in the USA boxing market.
Eddie Hearn talks about Devin Haney’s next opponent
Haney was not expecting to lose against Garcia, especially after the young boxer’s antics on social media. However, even though he was the underdog, KingRy managed to score a major upset, which shocked the world. As such, Haney is currently taking a break from boxing after the devastating loss.
However, his promoter, Hearn, is already planning the next opponent Haney will face. As such, he revealed that The Dream will return to the ring against Sandor Martin. Furthermore, since Garcia missed weight for the fight, Haney was able to retain his WBC super lightweight title.
Hence, after his loss, Haney will now have to do a mandatory defense of his title. Hearn seems confident that The Dream will fight Martin next, even though a confirmed date has not been set for the fight.
In case you missed it!
