Ever since Eli Manning retired, the New York Giants have been on the search for their next franchise quarterback. This season, they might have found that long-term solution in Jaxson Dart.

The franchise did not want to thrust the rookie onto the battlefield immediately, and signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston to help the youngster learn the ropes.

However, the Ole Miss star soon overtook Winston and became QB2. Then, situations turned favorable for him when Wilson struggled mightily. With every loss, calls for Dart to start grew louder.

Finally, after three games, head coach Brian Daboll decided he had seen enough from his veteran and named the 22-year-old as their starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

With Jaxson Dart behind center, the Giants have won two games and, if not for a missed field goal, could have won the third against the Denver Broncos. All of this has made the youngster a favorite of someone.

Charlie said he wanted to dress up as his favorite Giants quarterback ever for Halloween… guess he got his wish.

This was when the two-time Super Bowl-winning former quarterback shared a picture of his son, Charlie, in a Dart jersey, ready for Halloween. It seems the child favors the Giants’ newest QB over his father, who was the last to bring them two Vince Lombardi trophies.

Jaxson Dart has a wholesome reaction to learning about Eli Manning’s son

Eli Manning‘s social media post went viral, as fans could not believe he was open-minded enough to allow his son to have his own choice, rather than be forced to choose his father.

When Jaxson Dart met reporters after their last practice before welcoming the San Francisco 49ers, reporters asked the rookie QB about Manning’s post.

I think it’s awesome. I’ve met Charlie a few times. Obviously, been around Eli a lot. I think, maybe, like he said, he’s a little disappointed that it wasn’t him. It’s just a cool relationship, and I think it’s awesome.

Jaxson Dart replied

The Utah native was smiling the entire time he addressed this situation. Dart understands that the father in Eli Manning might be feeling a bit disappointed that his son prefers him.

Then he talked about how he had met Charlie and had numerous sit-downs with the Giants’ great. It seems the rookie is leaning into the experience Manning has, as he looks to navigate life as the future leader of this organization.

Robert Saleh praises Jaxson Dart before Week 9 clash

For someone growing up in Utah and then moving to Mississippi to play college football, New York is a completely different experience. The constant media coverage, the demands from fans to perform well every game, sometimes it is relentless.

A person who has also experienced that up front for nearly 4 years is coming back to MetLife Stadium this week. Robert Saleh, the former head coach of the New York Jets, knows how difficult it is to thrive in the Big Apple.

Now, as defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers, when asked about how he would game plan for Jaxson Dart this Sunday, the 46-year-old ended up praising the rookie.

He’s uber talented. I understand why Daboll went to the blue tent. I would’ve gone too. Kid’s good… I think New York hit on this one big time… This kid is going to be special.

Robert Saleh said

This might be just hyperbole, which Saleh is using to gain in mind games. Or, he might have actually seen the qualities in the 6′ 2″ QB to draw up this much praise for him.
