- She is currently competing in doubles at the Miami Open with partner Demi Schuurs.
- Perez has previously received unusual offers, including $500 for a foot picture.
A page on X bizarrely claimed WTA ace Ellen Perez turned down a $5000 offer for an underwear she wore in a match. Perez came across the post and dismissed it, but also joked that had she received the offer, she would have considered it.
Perez is currently competing at the Miami Open and is featuring only in doubles. Ahead of kick-starting her campaign, Perez, after coming across that aforementioned tweet shared by a page called Tennis Facts that has gained over one million views, decided to dismiss the rumors.
Pretty sure I’d consider this offer.

Perez then revealed that she was once offered $500 for a foot picture. Thanks to her tweets, she is now receiving other weird offers from the fans, including one offering her $20 dollars for calling them short and another asking her how much she would take for bath water. A fan jokingly suggested that this could be Perez’s possible side business.
But on a serious note where did they get these facts. Now I can’t even remember if I once turned this down. I do know I’ve had some weird requests. Once offered $500 for a foot pic. Now that offer I probs should have taken.

Ellen Perez and Demi Schuurs will play Mirra Andreeva and Victoria Mboko in the Miami Open doubles
Perez is not playing singles in the ongoing Miami Open. In doubles, she has paired up with Demi Schuurs, and they will kick off their campaign against two teenagers: Victoria Mboko and Mirra Andreeva. The match is scheduled to be held on March 22. The Australian ace has so far won eight doubles titles. But in singles, she has yet to win a tour-level trophy.

In Grand Slam doubles, Perez produced her best performance when she reached the semifinals of the 2023 French Open and the 2022 US Open. Last year in Major doubles, she produced her best performance when she reached the third round.
Perez has yet to win a doubles title in WTA 1000 events. She has so far reached four finals of this level along with doubles partner Nicole Melichar-Martinez, losing all (2024 Dubai Tennis Championships, 2022 Canadian Open, 2022, and 2023 Cincinnati Open). Perez and Melichar-Martinez also finished as runner-up at the 2023 WTA Finals.
Andreeva and Mboko, on the other hand, have won singles titles in WTA 1000 events. The Russian ace clinched back-to-back titles at this level in last year’s Dubai Tennis Championships and Indian Wells, defeating Clara Tauson and World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, respectively.
Mboko lifted the 2025 Canadian Open by beating four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka. The Canadian ace also made the final of the Qatar Open, losing the title to Karolina Muchova.
In Miami, both teenagers reached the fourth round and will face each other. The upcoming match will be their third meeting on the tour, as they met in the final of this year’s Adelaide International and the fourth round of the Qatar Open. Andreeva won in Adelaide and lost in Doha.
Before the Miami Open, Andreeva’s title defense at Indian Wells ended with a three-set defeat at the hands of Katerina Siniakova in the third round. Mboko’s debut run in the California desert ended with a straight-set defeat to eventual champion Sabalenka.
Mboko and Andreeva also teamed up for Indian Wells and reached the quarterfinals, where they lost in straight sets to Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic. While Mboko has yet to win a doubles title, Andreeva has added two titles to her trophy cabinet (2025 Brisbane International, 2025 Miami Open).
