The Kansas City Chiefs looked dejected and lost during the embarrassing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. From quarterback Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce, the back-to-back champions showed their emotions at Super Bowl LIX as it dawned that a better team beat them soundly.

Chiefs pass rusher Charles Omenihu was seen crying on the sidelines as his teammates tried to console him. There were still almost ten minutes left in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles were up 37-6 at the time. Even he knew that ten minutes were not enough to stage a comeback.

If that is what some top players displayed on the field, one can imagine how bad it must have been inside their locker room or when they are alone. When Omenihu was speaking with the cast of The Facility on FS1, host Emmanuel Acho asked him when he knew Super Bowl LIX had slipped out of their hands.

I think when Kenny Pickett got in the game. I don’t know what Super Bowl you’ve had the backup QB come into the game. It was just bad bro. The fact that you are in the Super Bowl, the biggest game of them all, and the backup QB of the opposite team is in the game, that’s just not a good feeling.

The 27-year-old pass rusher acknowledged his team had their brakes blown off. They had a chance up until the first half. But when they fell further back in the third quarter, they understood Super Bowl LIX was not going to be theirs.

Super Bowl LIX loss will make Chiefs stronger

Patrick Mahomes openly acknowledged that he cost his Kansas City Chiefs their third straight Super Bowl. But what this loss could do is light a fire in him and the rest of the squad. Charles Omenihu added this during his conversation with The Facility.

I will say this. It’s a learning experience for all of us. This won’t be something that will linger on in the organization. There will be a fire across everybody in that building to get back to that point.

The Texas alum mentioned that the team will head into the offseason with a clear focus. They want to return as Super Bowl favorites and how this offseason pans out will show the NFL world their true intentions.

Their 15-2 record masked some obvious problems the team had all season long. On top of that, Travis Kelce might call it quits after an illustrious career. That leaves the Chiefs with a task to reinforce the squad with proper solutions.
