Rumors of a new boyfriend creeped Emma Raducanu out. In her latest interview, Raducanu rubbished the rumors with a sarcastic jibe at the paparazzi.

Raducanu finished her 2025 season at the Ningbo Open with a straight-set defeat at the hands of home favorite Zhu Lin in the opening round. The World No.29 also grabbed a spot in the top 30 for the first time since August 2022 (she reached a career-best No.10).

Raducanu recently took to Instagram to share a few pictures of her time at a rugby game. Those pictures had several of her best friends, including Bridgerton star Simone Ashley. In one of the pictures, she was posing with a ‘mystery man,’ and as expected, rumors started spreading that she was dating that guy.

What did creep me out was I saw a photo of myself in London, and I didn’t see the paps (paparazzi photographers). I was with my two best friends. This happened last week, and it was like some tabloid article saying I had a new boyfriend or whatever. But it’s literally my best friend’s brother. I was like, ‘Come on, guys. Be better.’

Raducanu is often linked with men’s World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz. Before the revamped US Open mixed doubles, which they played together, Raducanu said she and Alcaraz are providing some entertainment to the fans with their link-up rumors. Their mixed doubles campaign in New York ended in the first round with a straight-set defeat at the hands of Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper.

We were going to the rugby, and of course, they cropped my best friend out (so that) it was just me and this guy, and I just didn’t see the paps. So that’s obviously creepy. How did they take this photo? But other than that, I feel good because someone’s always watching my back.

Raducanu produced her best performance this season when she reached the quarterfinals of the Miami Open, losing that match in three sets to eventual runner-up Pegula. It was the first time since her fairytale run at the 2021 US Open that the 23-year-old was able to win four consecutive matches in a single tournament.

Emma Raducanu hired Francisco Roig in August this year after a split with Mark Petchey. Roig worked with 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal from 2006 until 2022. During the aforementioned interview, Raducanu shed light on what she wants to improve while working with Roig.

He wants me to focus a lot more on building a better Emma Raducanu and a better base level. It’s something that I don’t think I’ve necessarily done before. I’ve always been more tactical, more just having to exploit their weaknesses if they have any, and trying to be very crafty. And it works. But the ideal is that you don’t have to necessarily think too much about the other players – you can just go and execute your game and know that you can win.

Raducanu was scheduled to play in an exhibition event this month alongside none other than Carlos Alcaraz. But because of a foot niggle, she deemed it best to withdraw from it.

This year in the Grand Slam events, she made it to the third round of three events (Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open), while at the French Open, she was eliminated in the second round. She played 22 tournaments this year, winning 28 of her 50 matches. Since the Korea Open, Raducanu failed to win more than one match in the remaining events she played.
