It’s a decision that I want to take my time with. I think that’s why I haven’t necessarily jumped into something straight away, because I want to make sure it’s a right fit. So I think I’m using this time period to just figure out what I really value. I’m not too sure yet right now. I haven’t come to any plans or decisions. So yeah, I’m just taking it, using the next couple weeks to see how I feel, and then make a decision.

Emma Raducanu said in an interview with The National

Raducanu, ranked No. 56 in the world, did not qualify for a direct entry due to her ranking. She was given a qualifying wildcard for the WTA 500 event. Just hours before her first-round opponent was announced, her wildcard was upgraded.

With this upgrade, Raducanu joined other top players who received wildcards. These include Olympic gold medalist Belinda Bencic, former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova, former world No. 4 Caroline Garcia, and rising star Ashlyn Krueger.

The Abu Dhabi Open will be Raducanu’s third tournament of the 2025 season. She has already competed in the Australian Open and the Singapore Tennis Open. This event gives her another chance to prove herself on the WTA Tour.
