Emma Raducanu Finally Ends Carlos Alcaraz Romance Rumors After Being Spotted Getting Cozy with 32-Year-Old Man

Emma Raducanu‘s Queen’s Club Championships run did not end the way she hoped. She reached her career’s third final in her home tournament but lost the match to Donna Vekic 6-0, 7-6(6).

And after her defeat, she withdrew from the Nottingham Open, where she was scheduled to lock horns with former World No.1 Karolina Pliskova. Also, after her defeat, she ended all the romance rumors with Carlos Alcaraz.

The Sun on June 15 shared a few pictures of Raducanu getting all cozy with John Friend, a 32-year-old PR executive. The couple was spotted in Battersea Park, South West London, with one picture being of them sharing a romantic kiss sitting on a bench.

Raducanu, in spite of her inconsistent on-court performance, is one of the most recognizable faces in tennis, so fans are always curious about her love life. On boyfriends, Raducanu once said, “My parents were very much against as it interfered with training.”

But in 2023, she reportedly dated billionaire Carlo Agostinelli, the son of Robert Agostinelli, the chairman and co-founder of private equity firm Rhone Group. They were photographed together at Paris Fashion Week but split after 12 months, with Raducanu reportedly blocking Agostinelli on social media.

And then there were Alcaraz speculations. But Raducanu, though she laughed off the dating rumors, always maintained that she and Alcaraz are close friends since they forged the friendly connection in 2021, once saying, “It is nice, and I think, for all of us, we really value those connections that we had from when we were young,” about the seven-time Grand Slam champion.

They both added fuel to the dating rumors when Alcaraz asked her out for mixed doubles in last year’s US Open. Raducanu also attended Alcaraz’s Queen’s Club Championships semifinal versus Roberto Bautista Agut last year.

Alcaraz missed the Queen’s event this season because he is nursing a wrist injury he suffered during the Barcelona Open, which also forced him to withdraw from the French Open, where he was the two-time defending champion. The 23-year-old will now be skipping Wimbledon as well.

Emma Raducanu, since her fairytale campaign at the 2021 US Open, has made a lot of headlines due to her constant chopping and changing of coaches. She won the Major under the guidance of Andrew Richardson, but they parted ways just a couple of weeks after her win.

But Richardson joined Raducanu’s entourage before this year’s Queen’s event. Former ATP player Tim Henman has now hoped that Raducanu gives time to Richardson and doesn’t end the partnership quickly.

I think it is great Andrew Richardson is back in her corner. Obviously, he’s known her for many, many years, a long time prior to their success at the US Open. You can hear his input from the side of the court; he was a good player himself, a very good coach, and fingers crossed Emma will stick with it.

Wimbledon main draw matches start on June 29. Raducanu has never progressed beyond the fourth round, reaching that stage twice (on her debut in 2021 and in 2024).

I think consistency and continuity are something that has been missing for a number of years, and I really hope Andrew gets the chance to keep building because this really is the first real opportunity for the relationship to flourish. This has been a really positive week for both.

Raducanu has already played two finals this season. Back in February, she reached her career’s first final since the 2021 US Open at the Transylvania Open but lost the title to Sorana Cirstea.
