Emma Raducanu appears to have deleted her Instagram account just weeks after the stalking incident at the Dubai Championships. The former US Open champion has also been going through a horrid start to the season and recently exited in the first round of Indian Wells. She currently holds an underwhelming 3-6 record this season.

On Thursday (March 13), fans on social media noticed Raducanu’s profile could no longer be found on Instagram. The British star had over three million followers on the social media site and was one of the most followed tennis players. However, it is unclear whether it is only a temporary social media break for Raducanu or a long-term decision.

Nonetheless, Raducanu’s X and Facebook profiles are still live. Though on the former, she last posted on February 1st, while the latter on March 4th, a day before her Indian Wells opening match. The British star lost to Moyuka Uchijima in straight sets at the WTA 1000 tournament.

However, Raducanu has not been at her best this season. The former World No.10 recently endured a nightmare stalking ordeal in Dubai. The British star was noticeably disturbed after seeing her stalker in the stands in the tournament while playing against Karolina Muchova in the second round.

Raducanu then called the umpire’s attention to the unnamed spectator and was then seen in tears behind the umpire chair. The man was moved from the stadium and a restraining order was put in place for Raducanu, who decided against pressing charges against the spectator. Since then, concerns about the 22-year-old’s safety have been high, forcing the Indian Wells organizers to have security around her throughout her stay in the tournament.

The former US Open champion’s departure from Instagram could spark further fears that she’s struggling with the stalking ordeal. Added to that might be her disappointing run of form this season, which has led to harsh criticism of her game and might have led her to make the decision.

Meanwhile, there’s not a conclusive fact behind Raducanu deleting her Instagram account. But, fans will hope that the British star is safe and not struggling mentally or emotionally during this period.

Emma Raducanu on the verge of dropping further in the WTA rankings following Indian Wells early exit

Emma Raducanu currently sits at World No.55 in the WTA rankings but is set to slide down after losing to Moyuka Uchijima in straight sets in Indian Wells. The 2021 US Open champion reached the third round of the tournament last year, which means she failed to defend her points. She will get a chance to climb the rankings by winning matches in the Miami Open.

The former World No.10 will also have a chance to make progress up the rankings with the upcoming European clay season which begins in April. Last year, she opted out from playing in several clay tournaments after not being given a wildcard; this year, she will have the chance to compete in them due to her ranking position.

However, Raducanu’s run this season has been horrible. The British No.2 has lost six of her last nine matches this season. In fact, the last time she won two consecutive matches was at the Australian Open in January.

She’s set to slide down to World No.72 which is a clear reflection of her poor form this season. The British star must now make a decision to bounce back at the Miami Open, which begins next week
