Though Emma Raducanu got injured once again, it has not affected her spirits much. She is optimistic about her future and knows that doing things that are helpful to her during her time off the court will make her confident and will help her not perceive her injury negatively.
Raducanu injured her foot while playing at the Korea Open. She was up against Daria Kasatkina in the quarterfinals when, after losing the first set, she decided to retire. Raducanu was scheduled to play at the China Open next, but she skipped it, inviting negative reactions from many tennis fans. The 2021 US Open champion, however, continues to focus on herself so that she can improve her performance when she walks on to the court next time.
Raducanu is also confident of having a good season next year. She believes working hard continuously will eventually pay off. The 21-year-old wants to live in the present, as it dictates the quality of her work and her relationships with people around her.
Emma Raducanu reacts to a fan slamming her critics
Emma Raducanu‘s only title so far is the US Open. At Flushing Meadows in 2021, she became the first qualifier to win the title and became an overnight sensation. Since that historic trophy, Raducanu has suffered from injuries and a slump in form. This has led to many fans criticizing her as they questioned whether she is capable of producing consistent performances.
When on Instagram, Raducanu posted a selfie and on the next slide a message that read, ‘Like I Vanished and Reappeared‘, as expected, many fans started slamming her in the comment section. But Raducanu received a message of encouragement from one lady and the Brit appreciated it.
The user, Caroline Roberts, questioned those who were criticizing Raducanu’s ability to win trophies. She stated that Raducanu has achieved a lot despite being just 21 years old. As Raducanu came across the message, she simply dropped a teary-eyed emoticon and a white heart emoticon to thank the user for backing her.
After withdrawing from the China Open, Raducanu won’t be participating in two more tournaments in China. The foot injury has forced her to pull out of the Ningbo Open and the Guangzhou Open.
