Emma Raducanu has picked Novak Djokovic over Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal as her tennis GOAT. Despite the lingering debate about who is the greatest among the three players, the British star explained why she chose the Serbian.

Federer and Nadal dominated men’s tennis during the early 21st century before Djokovic came along. Federer made Wimbledon his favorite Grand Slam winning eight out of his 20 Majors. Nadal was brilliant on clay, to the extent he was dubbed the king of the surface. He went on to win the French Open 14 times, with eight titles coming at the other three Majors.

However, Djokovic surpassed them when he won his 24th Grand Slam at the 2023 US Open. He first clinched the World No. 1 ranking in 2011 at the age of 24. Twelve years later, he holds the record for most career weeks at the top of the rankings with 428. He further cemented his position as arguably the greatest tennis player of all time when he beat Carlos Alcaraz to win the singles Olympic gold medal in Paris.

Raducanu picked Djokovic as the tennis GOAT over Federer and Nadal because of his repeatable qualities on the court.

In my opinion, the Tennis Goat is Novak Djokovic, just for his Pure repeatable qualities.

Novak Djokovic will return to action at the US Open, which gets underway on Monday (August 26). It is the Serbian’s first tournament since claiming the Olympic gold medal in Paris. The defending champion will open his campaign in New York against Romanian Radu Albot.

Emma Raducanu opens up on not competing at the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open

Emma Raducanu has finally opened up to the reasons why she didn’t compete at the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open. The British star’s ranking was not enough to get her into the main draw of the two Masters tournaments and she also failed to get a wildcard from the organizers.

She opted not to participate in the qualifying rounds of the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Open because of the risk of playing more matches and the likelihood of exiting early in the tournaments. The World No. 71 believes that she made the right decision about the two Masters 1000 events.

It was just that I would have pretty much had to wait around just for one tournament in qualies and then another week off before the US Open - so I think it was a better decision we all made to just go back and work on things there.

Raducanu is preparing for her opening match at the US Open against Sofia Kenin. The 2021 US Open champion will be hoping to continue in her good form since the grass season.
