Emma Raducanu has decided to drop charges against a man who exhibited fixated behavior during the Dubai Open. The person, however, has been given a restraining order.

Raducanu was approached by that man before her second-round clash with Karolina Muchova. The man, whose name has not yet been revealed, was inside Court 2 when Raducanu was locking horns with Muchova.

She broke down in tears when she saw him again and wasted no time to inform the chair umpire following which she hid behind the umpire’s chair and tried to calm herself down. The spectator then was escorted out of the court by security officials. The Government of Dubai has now revealed more details about the incident.

Following Raducanu’s complaint, Dubai Police detained a tourist who approached her, left her a note, took her photograph, and engaged in behaviour that caused her distress during the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. While Raducanu later chose to drop the charges, the individual signed a formal undertaking to maintain distance from her and has been banned from future tournaments.

Emma Raducanu wants to hire Ons Jabeur as her coach

Emma Raducanu ended her partnership with childhood coach Nick Cavaday as he wanted to prioritize his health. She is yet to hire a coach, but when asked which closest rival she would want to add to her entourage, Tunisian ace Ons Jabeur was her answer.

I would want Ons Jabeur to coach me because I think she has an amazing energy. I think she’s a really caring person, really generous person. Funny, but has a great eye for the game and is obviously pretty tactical as well with the way she plays and has a lot at her disposal. So maybe one day, Ons.

In the Middle East Swing, Jabeur, the three-time Grand Slam finalist, was defeated by Elena Rybakina in the Abu Dhabi Open quarterfinal, then lost to eventual finalist Jelena Ostapenko in the Qatar Open quarterfinals. She then succumbed to a straight-set defeat in Dubai.

Both Jabeur and Raducanu haven’t yet reached a semifinal in this year’s WTA events. Raducanu, before her second-round exit in Dubai, lost three back-to-back first-round matches.
