Tennis is a sport that requires day-to-day repetition. From practice to matches to recover and then repeat the same, a player often has to make a lot of sacrifices to their social life to keep up with the sport.
Speaking about the same sacrifice was Emma Raducanu, who had to practice while her friends went out partying every other night. She spoke with the same discipline as a world-class player, when she mentioned the sacrifices she had to make to get better as a player.

Don’t get too jealous, but of course when my friends are on holiday for like two months in the summer, you’re like okay I’m just out here grinding on the court and traveling and everything.said Emma Raducanu via Grazia
However, she quickly added on by saying that she was grateful for her opportunities which none of the others got to experience.
But equally I get opportunities that they may never have. The people I get to be in a room with. The experience I get to have first-hand. All of these are such amazing privileges, and you’re not going to get them for free.continued Emma Raducanu in the interview
Raducanu has significantly improved all year and is playing better than she did a couple of months ago. However, she was a little unlucky with the wildcards at the French Open and soon opted out of the tournament to train for Wimbledon.
Emma Raducanu on her mindset ahead of the Wimbledon
British ace Emma Raducanu skips the French Open to train for her home tournament in Wimbledon. An important tournament for any Brit, as they are forced to do well in their home. The championship starts on July 1st and Raducanu would set her sights on the shiny championship trophy.
I feel good. I’m playing well and I’m training really hard, I’m doing a lot of good things and I know it’s going to happen. If not this Wimbledon, the next Wimbledon.said Emma Raducanu

Now, the Brit set her sights on the Nottingham Open, where she will kick start the summer in the UK. A perfect opportunity for her to shine after years of struggles in the tournament, which begins on the 8th of June.
Raducanu has played there twice and failed to perform both times. She would look to do well this time around and aim for some much-needed success in the tournament.
