Emma Raducanu to skip the Strasbourg Open after being denied a French Open wildcard

Evian ambassadors Stan Wawrinka, Emma Raducanu, and Frances Tiafoe partnered to help the brand launch the ‘The Mountain of Youth’ ad, which promotes a playful mindset and reignites the brand’s Live Young signature.
The idea behind the advertisement is for the world to discover youthfulness. The advert was shot in a mountain of snow, as Raducanu, Tiafoe, and Wawrinka played tennis in snow rackets under the referee of French golf champion Celine Boutier, a fellow ambassador who plays golf on ice skates.

Raducanu was in her tennis white and breezy skirt, while Tiafoe and Wawrinka glittered in a light pink top and white shorts.
Wawrinka and Maria Sharapova were the first two ambassadors for Evian Water. The British star, Raducanu, joined in 2021, a few months after becoming the first British female to win a Grand Slam in 44 years. In January this year, Tiafoe joined in celebrating the new brand partnership on the eve of his second round match at the Australian Open.
Evian Water has been the official water for Wimbledon since 2008, after it signed a lucrative deal with the event organizers. It has also been a sponsor of the US Open for thirty years.
The brand has been known to champion hydration as an essential element of athletes’ success, both physically and mentally.
Emma Raducanu withdraws from Strasbourg Open after being denied French Open wildcard
Emma Raducanu was denied a wildcard for the French Open which starts on May 20. The British star was hoping to play in the clay major tournament as a Grand Slam winner. But, will now have to play in the qualifier round of the Roland Garros, something the former World No.10 never wished for.

This has also forced the British star to withdraw from the Internationaux de Strasbourg WTA 500 tournament as it will affect her French Open bid. The Strasbourg tournament which has been a big preparation for players ahead of the French Open starts and ends a few days before the second Grand Slam main draw starts.
The 21-year-old will play in the qualifier round of the Roland Garros, leaving her no chance to play in Strasbourg. She had earlier confirmed her participation at the event but withdrew after the French Open denied her a wildcard.
The British star is ranked No. 212 in the WTA and has only reached the quarterfinals since the clay season began. She lost to Argentine María Lourdes Carlé in the first round of the Madrid Open after earning a wildcard.
