Emma Raducanu recently spent time with the children at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children’s Charity. The Brit is not in action currently and used her time off to spend some time with children.
Raducanu was last seen at the Wimbledon Championships, where she did well to reach the fourth round. She could not progress further, however, as she lost to qualifier Lulu Sun 2-6, 7-5, 2-6. With time to spare now, she visited the hospital in London and put a smile on many patients there.
The former World No. 10 even played balloon tennis with the children at the hospital gym. She even documented the experience and uploaded the video on social media. While the hospital acknowledged and thanked Raducanu for giving them her time, the Brit replied by expressing her gratitude.
Emma Raducanu one of the three WTA stars to opt out of Paris Olympics
The entire sporting world will now turn its attention to the Paris Olympics, where countries face each other in different sports to win medals and establish their superiority. While tennis is one of the most watched events at the Summer Games, this year’s quadrennial event will be without a few of the biggest stars from the WTA tour.

Emma Raducanu has stated that she will listen to her body and skip the event rather than undergo the quick transition from grass courts to clay courts. Given that she underwent three surgeries last year and only recently began finding her form, she has decided to opt out of the Olympics this year.
World No. 3 Aryna Sabalenka will also not take part in the Olympics. She stated that prioritizing her health and getting ready for the upcoming hard court season were the primary reasons for her withdrawal. Ons Jabeur also stated that she was pulling out of the Summer Games. She cited the demanding tennis calendar as a primary reason for her decision.
