British star Emma Raducanu has been struggling since her comeback this season. With her recent withdrawal from the French Open, despite not being injured, she has come to terms with her dwindling form in the HSBC advert.
Raducanu, who is one of the HSBC brand ambassadors, revealed that life is not a straight line. And it has never been a straight line since she famously won the 2021 US Open. This season, she has yet to prove on the court that she is a Grand Slam champion with only one quarterfinal reach in eight tournaments.
Though her market appeal has reduced on the court, she still continues to attract lucrative deals that have seen her reach superstardom. She struck a deal with HSBC, a universal bank and financial services group, to be their global brand ambassador for four years. Despite not having won a maiden WTA title, she remains in the spotlight.
She revealed via a new ad for HSBC that she has learned how to navigate difficult moments as an athlete, believing that the future has great things in store for her.
I’ve learned that life is full of twists and turns, but it’s how you navigate those moments that define you. As an athlete, that is never truer than when you are injured and facing criticism. It can feel like a constant uphill battle, but you can view it as either an obstacle or an opportunity to grow. If the last few years have taught me anything, it’s that life is never a straight line, and you never know what opportunities are around the next corner. I’m excited to see what the future holds, whether that’s next week, next year, or next decade.Emma Raducanu said
Meanwhile, she added that while growing up, her parents instilled in her a sense of resilience. Without a doubt, the resilience has paid off because, after several injuries Raducanu suffered, she remains committed to proving she can play well on the court.
Emma Raducanu withdrew from the French Open after the wildcard snub
Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the French Open after failing to earn a wildcard from the tournament organizers. She was supposed to begin her qualifiers stage today after practicing at the National Tennis Center in London since her Madrid Open early exit.
The British star began her clay season brightly after winning two matches at the Billie Jean King Cup. She competed at the Stuttgart Open, reaching the quarterfinals, and lost to Iga Swiatek. However, an unexpected straight-set defeat to Argentine qualifier Maria Lourdes Carle saw her exit Madrid in the first round.
She is yet to reveal which tournament she will play next as things continue to fall unexpectedly against her plan this season.
