Emma Raducanu has confirmed that she will return to the court at the WTA 250 event in Hong Kong. The British star has been away from the tour since spraining her ligament in the quarterfinals of the Korea Open last month.

She has struggled with form issues this season and multiple injuries as well, which has stopped her from winning her second title this season. The 21-year-old has shown a spark of brilliance on the court, but each time she looks to be getting better, injury forces her to months on the sideline. At the Korea Open in September, she played excellently.

She defeated Peyton Stearns and Yue Yuan to reach the quarterfinals in Seoul. However, she was forced to retire against Daria Kasatkina after the first set due to an injury. She had planned a packed Asian swing but was forced to withdraw from several tournaments, including the Wuhan Open.

The great news is that she is back on the court. In a video shared on social media, Raducanu confirmed that she will compete at the Hong Kong Open.

Hello everyone, it’s Emma Raducanu here. I really cannot wait to come and play the Prudential Women’s Hong Kong Open. It’s my first time playing the WTA event there, but I was there in December last year and I really loved the city. So I’m very much looking forward to coming and I hope to see you all there in October.

Emma Raducanu admits she was envious of people going to ‘parties’ she ‘couldn’t go’ due to tennis

Emma Raducanu began the 2024 season as World No.301 in the WTA rankings. That was a result of her missing over half of the 2023 season due to wrist and ankle surgeries. However, she is now World No.56 just ten months since her comeback.

The former US Open champion is now full of confidence after working hard for her comeback. In a recent interview, she revealed that she envied people who went to parties while she was sidelined due to injury.

There were certain moments where I felt envy – like when there were parties that I couldn’t go to, but at the end of the day, I didn’t know any different. You don’t miss what you don’t know. I knew I wanted to be the best and I knew what I needed to do to get there, so I didn’t think of it as a sacrifice.
